Beyond - Legends Prankster, meet Assassin (Wes Janson meets Mara Jade) Updated 5/16

This is so bizaare, I was thinking about starting a prankster round robin where people wrote in stories about Wes and Mara basically participating in a prank war...(This is b/c in my trilogy of fics, Mara and Wes meet each other and basically go back and forth a few times in the prank arena)...and the viola...I find a story devoted to them meeitng each other.

Ahh Killik Twilight, its good to know that great minds think alike *grin*....

Inryi's here whoo hoo I love Inyri and Wes fics..he annoys her so much, and Corran? Even better!

Yeah, I was reading . . . and someone asked for a Wes/Inyri 'fic, and I threw in Mara as a counterpoint, and Corran as the sage master . . .

Lieutenant Voor Hispir sat at his desk in the command center, busily running over the records of recent landings. He scanned the ship descriptions, going through the list with the practiced eye of a Mor Duul, a species who?s brain was made for this sort of work. As he ran through the entries, a single vessel caught his eye.

Quinn?s Hand, Lambda-class shuttle, carrying two passengers and two pilots.

Why had that caught his eye? He decided to look at the passenger manifest: A man and a woman, married, names Arvel and Aiada Crynyd.

Why did that ring a bell?

He decided to mark it for the analysts, and he continued his work.

Wes Janson, or, as the spaceport authorities knew him, ?Arvel Crynyd,? walked rather arrogantly into the hotel that NRI had arranged for him and Inryi to stay in. Under their guise as husband and wife, they would have one room, but Wes had already told Inyri he would sleep on the couch. She?d gone off to find Mara, and left him all alone in the enormous hotel.

This gave him an idea. Back during the formation of Wraith Squadron, Commander Antilles had sown a transmitter into Kettch?s body to track the movements of the creature. What if he could modify the critter to be remote controlled? He could make the little Ewok cause all sorts of havoc, and unless the hotel had visual pickups for picking up crime and that sort of thing, no one except Inyri would suspect it was him.

Wes ran off to find the Kettch doll.

Inryi Forge walked along the sidewalks of Phaath IV?s capital city, watching the security guards, the passerby, the tourists, and most importantly, for Mara. Wes assumed that he and Inyri had been sent here for an Intel mission, but Inyri, Mara, Corran, and basically everyone else involved knew what was actually going on. She hated to fool him in such a manner, but she had to admit that the final act, in which Wes was going to be a major player, would be rather hilarious.

She picked up her pace, and blended into the crowds.


I hope you enjoy it! Sooner or later Mara and Inyri will have a conversation on exactly why they're there, and you'll see what'll happen to Wes.

Hmm, a remote control Ewok. Combine the idea with a bored Janson, and you will get mayhem. So, Wes is the only one who's in the dark on the scheme, huh? And he'll be a major player in the final act of the plan.

Oh, the possibilities...

Wes looked at his newly-rebuilt Kettch doll. With the remote control, he could make it do anything. For the first test, he made Kettch climb the wall using the suction pads he?d installed, along with the automatic saliva launcher, and a couple of other goodies. After it got to the ceiling, Wes sent Kettch through the air ducts, looking for a room with unsuspected victims . . .

Inyri sat down on a plush sofa that Mara Jade had provided her.

?Oooh, this is sooo comfortable. Thanks, Mara.?

Mara Jade, sarcastic smuggler and jaded assassin, smiled.

?Any friend of Corran?s is a friend of mine. Except this Janson character. Exactly what does Wedge want me to do to him??

Inyri smiled.

?It?s simple. Torture him.?

Inryi laughed, and shook her head at Mara?s obvious misunderstanding.

?I don?t mean kidnap him and torture him. The only reason Corran asked you to be here is because we want to scare Wes out of his pants.?

Mara drew back as she thought about it.

?Fine. Tell Corran I need to meet with him first, though.?

?Sure thing.?

Just as Mara was about to go to the door, she heard Inryi scream.

?WES JANSON!!!!!?

Wes giggled like a schoolgirl as he made the Kettch doll walk through the air ducts. He hadn?t found any rooms with people in them yet, but he was still looking. Wait. Was that Inryi? What was she doing in the hotel? The camera eyes zoomed in on the woman that was talking to Inyri. Red-haired, very good looking, and she was wearing a lightsaber.

A lightsaber?

Wes was confused, but seeing as the woman was talking to Inyri, he now had a scapegoat for his prank. The Kettch doll opened the grating above Inyri?s head, and with a mechanical roar of glee, the Kettch doll leapt from the duct . . .

. . . and landed on Inryi?s hair. The audio mics picked up her screaming his name, and Wes shuddered. How could she have possibly known it was him? Wes shuddered at what Inyri might do to him . . . when Kettch had somehow gotten into her personal belonging on the Tydirium . . . wow. Wes had a sneaking suspicion that it was Corran who had planted the stuffed toy in Inyri?s stuff, because no one would think Corran would ever do such a thing . . . rubbish. Sheer rubbish.

The audio speakers picked up the red-haired woman saying, ? . . . I take it the person responsible for that would be Wes Janson??

Inryi nodded, still red-faced and angry. The Kettch doll had fallen off of her head, and when she ripped the wiring out of it, it shook for a moment and lay still. Wes still had audio and visual pickups, though . . .

Mara said, ?Maybe I should pay a little . . . visit . . . to Wes.?

Inyri smirked, and said, ?Don?t hurt him too bad.?

?Oh, don?t worry, I won?t.?

Wes became pale with fright as he realized who ?Mara? was.
