Every time I manage to notice a Star Wars reference in a movie or a TV show, they are always about the Original Trilogy. I can understand why. After all, the Original Trilogy is the only piece of Star Wars on which all Star Wars fans agree, because we all agree that it is good. So, I can understand why the Original Trilogy is the most referenced in other media. But, are there references to the Prequel Trilogy in other movies or TV series? Do you remember having noticed some Prequel reference in a non Star Wars movie or series?

I'm not talking about Prequel references that are made with the pure intent of mocking the movies, because we all remember those references from The Simpsons, Family Guy and The Big Bang Theory. These are not the references I'm talking about...

By that statement alone, you are probably already answering your own question. Even on this forum alone, I have seen opinions from people saying that they actually prefer the PT, which makes your statement false. Obviously, NOT everybody "agrees" on which is "good" and which isn't. I don't care about majority and which opinion dominates. This isn't an election. Also, don't forget that the OT has been influencing pop culture for 2 decades longer than the PT. So naturally OT characters have had a chance to become more iconic. While I totally agree that Darth Vader (with mask) or Han or Luke are more iconic than pre-Vader Anakin or Padmé, I have yet to see Rey, Kylo or Snoke being widely recognized or iconic in any way. Maybe in the future they will, and maybe they won't. The simple fact is that the prequels were launched into a very different society and culture than ANH was back in 1977.

...okay...? I don't exactly understand what any of this has to do with the topic I was talking about. I simply asked if people on the forum remember having seen Prequel references in other movies and TV shows, and then you proceeded to explain that the Original Trilogy characters had more time to become iconic. Okay I guess...?

PS: I didn't say that all Star Wars fans agree in saying that the Original Trilogy is better, I simply said that we all agree in saying that it is good. There's a difference between good and better.

The film Boyhood has a couple of references to Revenge of the Sith, since it was released at the time certain parts of the film were shot.

And basically any mention of Sith Lords and Padawans in movies and TV shows are invariably prequel trilogy references.

In The Flash tv show, Cisco Ramon´s character makes a reference about the Midichlorians and Anakin when talking to Barry about his fears to becoming a Dark Side version of himself . I also remember Yoda´s speech about how "fear leads to anger, anger leads to..." being referenced in some shows.

There's another Revenge of the Sith parody in How I Met Your Mother, when Barney is shown "suiting up" in a fashion similar to Darth Vader, complete with slowly-rising table shot. I think it's quite early on in the show, which would've placed it around 2005. Barney also has a life-size 501st Clone Trooper in his apartment (which looks shockingly cheap; makes sense though, given how there were no actual Clone Trooper armour props around to borrow) but characters erroneously refer to it as a "Stormtrooper" until, a few seasons down the line, it gets quietly swapped out for actual Stormtrooper armour.

Also, in the recent Apple TV+ show Shrinking (starring Harrison Ford, no less) one of the characters immediately became my favourite when she asked "Exsqueeze me?" and I flipped out because I was wearing a Jar Jar shirt emblazoned with that exact same quote.

I remembered another prequel reference in What We Do in the Shadows, a mockumentary about the daily life of four vampires and their familiar. In one episode, Colin Robinson (an energy vampire who sucks the energy of his victims by boring or annoying them) try to annoy Laszlo (one of his vampire housemates) by faking Jar Jar´s voice, but he fails because Laszlo finds this particular voice to be nice and very funny.

In Solar Opposites, the mall the character visit is the “Gretchen-Darth Mall”; near the end of season 1, there’s a fight between three characters, with some scenes being literal copies of the Qui-Gon/Obi-Wan/Maul fight from TPM.

Though I haven’t seen it, the trailer to The Men Who Stare at Goats (featuring Ewan McGregor) had some jokes about Jedi Knights.

Yes, great film. I just loved seeing Ewan McGregor saying....

That could be a Jar Jar reference, but it could also be a Wayne's World reference.

I just remembered that there's a scene in Stargate SG-1 where Teal'c mentions Anakin's virginal birth, which is a Prequel concept.

There is a The King of Queens episode with very visible Queen Amidala toys in the background. I think to remember it's a Halloween themed episodes.

King of Queens had all kinds of SW stuff all the time. In fact there was a Naboo Starfighter magnet on the fridge for a few seasons.

Another one was (around 2005-ish) they did an episode in a store, and behind Doug was Darth Vader Cheez-it box promoting ROTS.
