big match john vs theory at mania. raw was really good last night, loved cena getting to introduce/pass the torch to cody.

 

They finally announced the first inductee into WWE's HOF class this year, and it is...

cena has just given this quote (presumably during wwe 2k23/mania promotion) regarding his feelings for vince in light of recent allegations/charges:

“No (it is not hard to reconcile the feelings I have for Vince McMahon with the allegations against him). I mean, everyone has the right to have their perspective. I have the right to have mine. When you love somebody, you take them as imperfectly perfect as they are. We all make mistakes, we all have poor decisions. Lord knows I’ve made my collection of poor choices. That doesn’t mean I’m not going to love somebody. There’s no way I can go on record and say I don’t love Vince McMahon."

this is almost exactly what bryan danielson said when asked a similar question said last july, and it's equally as disappointing. covering up and discrediting ashley massaro's rape to protect the wwe's business relationship with the american military is not a "mistake," it is a ****ing crime. sixteen years' worth of sexual assault and harassment allegations are not "mistakes." john's made a name for himself doing a lot of good for a lot of people, with make-a-wish, etc. i'm sure he feels a lot of gratitude to vince mcmahon for the life he's been able to enjoy, but this is poor. if you can't take a stand for "business reasons," just decline to answer.

 

this was very good last night. cody has always been brilliant, but roman cutting these kind of promos is something i never would have imagined a few years ago.

 

been struggling to keep interest in aew over the last few months, but that omega/vikingo match last night was spectacular.

 

I think Danielson turning heel last night was an unforced error. I think you could have milked that for a bit longer. True Danielson's had issues with Omega and the Elite, but there were cracks between the BCC and Danielson, especially over Regal's betrayal of Mox to give MJF the title (remember Danielson interceded before Mox could beat the living tar out of Regal and was the only one to come to Regal's aid when MJF turned on Regal and did beat the living tar out of him). Could have stretched it a few weeks so that whatever direction Danielson went could have gone either way (like WWE did with Jey Uso before he turned on Sami).

 

I'm good with Danielson going heel, I just think it could have been stretched out a few weeks beforehand, that's all.
