mania viewership was up 114% from last year.

the netflix deal to make the product easily available globally is probably the best decision that wwe has ever made.

in an alternate universe, they could be the most beloved tag team in the midwest

 

punk was also punching wwe when they were very, very down (2018-20). rollins was prominent in a lot of stories during that time, so if there's any venom at all, a lot of it likely came from that 2-3 year pre-pandemic period when creative was at its very worst in wwe.

 

I wouldn't go so far as to say he's a trash human. But he has let his emotions and worst impulses get the better of him at times (and he admitted in his WWE doc - he doesn't just burn bridges, he burns them while he's on them). So I'd say he's a complicated, highly strung human being (as @Mustafar_66 said), but I wouldn't necessarily put him on a trash human level as say, the Ultimate Warrior was.

And IMHO what happened towards the end of his time in AEW was a two way street. I feel that if everybody had communicated (especially after Brawl Out), and not resorted to legal processes (such as NDAs and rumored restraining orders) and maybe parlayed those tensions into a storyline, I feel we probably AEW would probably still have Punk, rather than firing him after the Jungle Boy incident and having him walk back into WWE with open arms in 2023.

wishing a happy retirement to the truly exceptional tam nakano, who wrestled her last match last night at stardom all-star grand queendom. tam's rivalry with giulia in stardom is my favorite longterm storyline in the years that i've watched stardom and joshi wrestling in general. giulia posted this photo this morning:
