Mini Series Qimir the Stranger, who some may call a Sith and may or may not be a former smuggler

I mean that would lack a bit of writers imagination but would be funny:
“Osha, I am your mother!”

 

In case Qimir is indeed a Force-user, wonder if he drinks alcohol for real, but can become sober anytime via a special Sith technique.

 

I would be interested in that technique for scientific purposes!

Better yet, in the old Lombard tongue, Darth Mader (always Latin-derived, of course).

 

That actually is a pretty good Sith name. At least when written down.

 

Darth Mater/Mader/Moeder sounds a lot like Dark Matter doesn't it? That mystical concept of the universe that may or may not exist....

 

Darth Moeder was previously decapitated, but continues on as Darth Möederhead, attaching itself to a variety of bodies, either organic or robotic.

Had a busy 24 hours here after work. A bit confused by the tag. Is there a new warning or rule we should be aware of and refrain from regarding speculation of who the man in black might be? I have to head to a doctor’s appointment so I will check back in later but want to make sure I understand before I write anything on the subject.

 

I believe we're free to speculate, using our imagination to form ideas based upon clues we've been presented.

For example.... the name Qimir sounds like chimera.

2. a thing that is hoped or wished for but in fact is illusory or impossible to achieve.

Qimir might be a red herring of sorts, with a name that phonetically alludes his involvement with Darth Chimera, the masked character known in the subtitles as Stranger. By "red herring of sorts", I mean I think he's not actually the Stranger, but is written for us to think he is. He's involved, influencing Mae along the way, but the stranger will be something else. Not fully a someone, more of a something.
Darth Chimera might be a concoction created by the coven of witches, an adversary for the Jedi. It might even be a mix of the two definitions of chimera..... a being that has a mix of physical origins, but is also a figment of the imagination.

 

I was able to read @A Chorus of Disapproval ’s post about how unusual it has been within Lucasfilm to show but not name a dark side user before. That’s a great point.

Plagueis has been so clearly described as Muun though and Lucasfilm has had so many issues angering alterations to legacy characters of any kind that it seems usual to me that they would suddenly make Plagueis a young human male.

You do have me wondering why they haven’t decided to name the character yet though.

 

I think the name has not been revealed in marketing due to the show being classified as a "mystery".
For The Mandalorian, I seem to recall that designs for the production of Grogu / Baby Yoda merchandise were not sent to the manufacturers until after the first episode had aired, because they wanted to keep the identity of the 50 year old asset a surprise.

 

I'm glad that the Sith is a mystery so far, but who knows how long this will remain the case. We might learn the name midway through the season or at the very end. But I'm sure it will be revealed at some point.

 

Unless I misunderstood, I think in that video between Dave and Leslye, she talks about the dynamic between the Master and Apprentice and that if the Apprentice craves power, he will eventually have to take on a student, which is the Acolyte.

Given Qimir's understanding of the Sith and his age, I am guessing he is the Apprentice. Now whether he is also the "Master" (the guy at the end of the first episode), I don't know. It could be that the guy she's calling "Master" is really the apprentice, and Qimir and he are one and the same. Or the "Master" is training Mae to replace Qimir, but Qimir learned of this and is "helping her" to undermine his own Master.

Those are my two guesses at this point.

I think that depends on if they are planning more seasons or not. If they are doing multiple seasons then I bet we see a bit more revealed each season.

Even if Qimer is in Sith robes, it doesn't mean that he is the Sith Master. I see some online making this assumption. It probably means he's the Apprentice, in my view.

However, I wonder what Darth Zipperface calls himself?
