What if they are brothers who were separated at birth, with one being raised a Jedi and the other a Sith?

And now they are each alone with the other's former apprentices. Sisters who were separated at birth, with one being raised a Jedi and the other a Sith, but now they are about to switch sides?

There is speculation that Sol and Qimir are brothers (Sun and Moon).

    I could see that.

I love Qimir's outfit without mask and poncho. Cobra Kai! vibes :D

The Stranger was actually inspired by the character of Drunken Cat from the 1966 Hong Kong martial arts film Come Drink With Me. A seemingly inebriated goofball concerned only with finding his next beverage and occasionally breaking into song, Drunken Cat is later revealed to be a powerful Shaolin master who takes down a group of hostage-holding bandits. However, Headland wanted to flip the script, making her ruse character a force of evil. Once she started fleshing out her villain in hiding, "Manny immediately came up for me as the perfect person to do this."

Looks like I have a new favorite Sith Lord in canon.

If he dies… we riot! Don’t kill him off please!

I was going to say that he strikes me as not quite feral or animalistic, but definitely fierce and vicious when fighting, and that he is very off-puttingly casual and impish when not engaged in combat, with the contrasts between his demeanors being creepy as hell.

Like, if Maul had the demeanor of a trained attack dog 24/7 when under Sidious’s command, this dude feels more like a brutally experienced fighting dog in combat (as creepy as that thought is) but with a very relaxed and cat-like sort of tendency to play with his food when out of it - where Maul had this unearthly sort of discipline and reserve that never dropped, and fought fairly gracefully, this dude’s entire presentation is a bit more wild and “scarred”, and he feels like his emotions are genuinely sincere, but more bluntly groomed into ease with violence.

I think the scarred nature of his helmet probably suggests something about his relationship with his Master, that it’s more openly hostile and sadistic than even Palpatine and Maul...

The Sith is way cool, I have zero problem it was obvious, sometimes there's things the audience should figure out and it makes the most story sense from the characters available. Also another Canadian Sith Lord!

Did he imply that wearing the helmet protects him from mind control?

I’m very happy the reveal happened as it did even if it was obvious. It spells well for the series, because it means the showrunner doesn’t prioritize shock but rather a story that makes sense. It makes me trust the hints we’re given and the connections made to other works, whether canon or legends.

With that said, I do think the stranger will likely be a Knight of Ren. In fact, that felt like the real twist in the episode, though it’s not stated explicitly. Everything about his design screams it, and it would be a subversion of the expectations set for this series. That doesn’t mean we won’t see the Sith appear, the Knights are servants of the Sith after all. And it means we could explore that side of the Sith, the cults that exist around them, that the movies introduced but didn’t flesh out. We might eventually even see Exegol again, which would be very exciting.

I know that he’s referred to as a Sith Lord in interviews, but I do think that could be a little lie to keep it from being fully explicit just yet. My guess is the actual Sith may show up in the season finale (or in future seasons), but not to kill the stranger or his acolyte(s).

Actually I could have sworn multiple times the music cue was the distinct 4 or so notes of Kylo Ren's theme

Anyway he specifically called himself a Sith unless another Dark Sider lie

If Qimir is the apprentice, perhaps the master discards/banishes him for revealing himself too soon. Or perhaps the master even tries to kill him, but Qimir escapes.

And then forms his own group of helmeted dark-side users.

It wasn't accidental that they used Kylo Ren's theme music.

A descending melody is very commonly used to evoke evil and dread. Here's a couple of instance where John Williams uses it to characterize the Sith. It's actually something of a motif for the dark side whereas Darth Vader and the Emperor have their own repsective theme music.

I think his words were: “I have no name. But Jedi like you might call me a Sith.” Which is not exactly confirmation that he is a Sith Lord, but sounds like it could be. It’s ambiguous, which I think is the point. Honestly, the design is a bigger indicator for me. His helmet, lightsaber, and robes are all very reminiscent of Kylo Ren. Plus, his avowed purpose doesn’t really seem to tie to the revenge of the Sith. It’s more chaotic and based only on wanting to be able to use his power as he wishes, the Jedi just happen to be an obstacle. Lots to look forward to with this guy.

I think he may be a way ward apprentice. He cares more about his own want for destruction than the plan of the Sith. Which may lead to the current true master taking him out, or telling his apprentice to if my theory of the Apprentice's Apprentice is correct

He seems to have a similar goals to the other Sith. Who wish to be free to dominate. Which includes free of the Jedi, who prevent them from dominating.

Yeah. The freedom Qimir wants is absolute, not the more democratic power relations.

Qimir's deeply dehumanising line "That was it's name" in Episode 5 TA (The Acolyte!) could be a reference to "mere Padawan", "mere Jedi", "mere alien", or "merely nobody". That line really seems to embody all/any of these, and hints at more oppressive attitudes. That's Qimir's version of freedom.

His switcheroo line when addressing Mae during Episode 5's big battle - the bright and breezy "Hello!" if I recall correctly - really shows he is not to be trusted. I don't think this is just a clever plot or dramatic device for explaining events away (although it's essential for our stories).

i think TA is again showing how trust is foundational to a humane or "safe and secure society". Of course, the Sith don't really want this. And the Master v Acolyte dynamic embodies this intensely.

Similarly, the Jedi v Padawn dynamic... We are yet to see what Sol's historic antics were for keeping things hidden from Osha, and seemingly being untrustworthy himself. We'll see if the bond survives this...

    The truth will out.

It's funny how Qimir talks like a bad guy in local soap opera show.[face_laugh] Hard to understand for other than Finnish viewers for sure but his seriously cracked me up. Don't know if it's a reference to some classic I am not aware of. (Might be) But his "No,no,no" and "rules, rules, rules" were something Aaro Vaalanne in Salatut Elämät would say if he was Star Wars character LOL. He used to threateningly repeat names of his victims three times just like that. And I think other words too at times. But his "Laura, Laura, Laura" and "Paula, Paula, Paula" are classic Finnish memes. (Finnish meme culture loves that show)

And this episode of Acolyte came right after that show introduced return of Aaro's memories in Salatut elämät. There was this crazy plot twist how he had amnesia for like years and he became good guy while he used to be murdering psychopath and now he probably become bad guy again.

That show is not the epitome of good writing so it's kinda worrying how I am reminded of soap opera when watching Star Wars. Even though not the first time. Aaro had had same sort of death scenes several times and then he "somehow returns". Then he had identical twin brother Eero too. That whole thing was something that reminds of Maul and Savage Opress plotlines actually LOL.

But if Qimir in the next episodes says "Osha, Osha, Osha" or "Mae, Mae, Mae" I am gonna ROFLMAO

So many people online talk about lack of good writing. Which star wars movies or shows do think had good writing. Just curious because I never found good writing to be the best about any Star Wars material.

    Please don't feed the troll.

He is content to go from thread to thread to thread repeating variations of "Hahahaha I pause this stupid show to point and laugh! Lolol I point and laugh at the stupidity! On to the next thread!"
