I'd like to try. I'll figure out my Elvish name later.

If you get The Silmarillion, it has a lot of elvish in the back.

Like common roots and pronounciation and such.

I can see this is gonna take some hard work. I hate hard work. Anyone who says hard work never killed anyone never read books about how the pyramids were prabably built, or Speer's armaments industry.

Few things to keep me busy over the next coupla days. Then maybe I'll get started on this. To be frank, Christmas is probably not the ideal time to start learning another language. January's probably better.

Come to think of it though, throughout January all I can think about is the Playoffs. Maybe after the Superbowl, in February?

Oh, there's never an ideal time is there?

Just count me in now. I'll get around to it somehow.

Quenya on tape would be useful...

Actually, I just realised that the name I made up is in Sindarin and also came from my middle name. :p Oh well... I like it anyways. I did the first few lessons on my own a while ago, but I think I'll go over them again. :D

I dont really have time to fully learn the language, and I certainly couldnt keep up with you dedicated people, but I have looked at some Quenya stuff before. I might stop in once in a while.

If any of you want the Tengwar font for Word lmk and ill find the site for you; I must say, its pretty sweet to type stuff with the runes.

solojones: I'm sure you might be able to find it at Barnes and Noble or Borders. If not there, it could be on Amazon, which I think is where I got mine.

I came up with a Sindarin name for myself a while back, when I was reading the Silmarillion. I think it was Ril'nar. It means 'brilliant fire'.

By the way, I found another site which has both Sindarin and Quenya stuff in it here. It's also got an Elvish dictionary that you can download.
