I know it's been awhile, and I haven't been able to even begin my fourth version (lack of materials) but I did get my underdress dyed. Here are some of my pictures, and when I get back from summer, onto my fourth version. Very cute about the engagement spot. ~Spacelady
Hey everyone- I'm looking to sell my pastel lake dress made by Ferd for me two years ago. It's all silk, in very good condition, needs to be steamed, yada yada. If anyone's interested, send me an email at jbogardy@gmail.com and I'll be happy to chat with you about the dress. I figured I'd offer it on the boards here before making a bold attempt at Ebaying. I'm also not active here since I recently turned to the dark side (TB-9103 of the 501st ) so feel free to email away! Happy trails and I look forward to seeing everyone at C4?!!
Hi Desiderata, we're not technically allowed to offer to sell stuff on the forums here, unless you are posting a link to your own eBay auction selling it... weird, I know. Thanks!
'Tis the season for selling rainbow dresses, I guess! I just put my version 2.0 up on ebay, since I just got started on 3.0 for comic con... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220001093748
Ok, so I have a question. What kind of shoes does she wear with this dress?? Tey're definately violet mary janes. but in on pic I saw of the movie, it looks like they're heels, whereas in the runway show they look like flats. Can anyone help? ~Tally
For my wedding reception, I decided to make a simplified version of this dress for our two flower girls. They were thrilled to have their "Princess dresses" They looked lovely in them--until they got chocolate all down the front. That's why we do pictures early in the reception, Ladies and Gentlemen. LOL! [image=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v189/Jade-Walker/Carolines4.jpg]
Awesome pic, Jade-Walker! And sorry about the posting, Sister_Sola. The dress has been sold though, so thanks to everyone for your inquiries!
I didn't do the Pastel for myself. I will have a dedicated costuming washer in the new house, though. So I hope to make it at some point. I'll have to post up some photos of our wedding and the reception. How about you, Bennae?

Hi there! The shoes in the runway show weren't the movie shoes. The ones in the movie, to the best of my research (i'm costume shoe obbessed) are satin mule types with a small heel. The closest I have ever found are these: shoes They would have to be dyed the lavendar color, but that's the closest I've found. Hope that helps! ~Laura
Actually, that didn't help. That link sent me to a hotel web page... If you could send me the real link, that would be cool. Thanx! ~Tally
TA DaAA!!! (I didn't make all of this...only the modefications) http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e155/Beastchild13/Lakebust.jpg http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e155/Beastchild13/Lake2.jpg http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e155/Beastchild13/Lake1.jpg ~Tally
Wow, Jade-Walker - the two girls are soooo cute! What a great idea for flower-girl dresses! Congratulations on your wedding! Tally - the dress looks fantastic! Looking forward to seeing it at D*C!
ok, rainbow dress people.....I told a friend I would attempt to make the necklace for her dress, and bought sculpy instead is sintra. Do I need to take it back, and look for the sintra, or have any of you made the necklace with this??? Please advise..........
I have not made this costume, but if it were me I'd really use Sintra over Sculpy for the necklace. I just think sintra is a lot easier to work with for something like this. Sintra is probably lighter too. Maybe others who have made it can chime in though. - kay dee
Looks like at the neck she had velcro, or maybe it is elastic sown at the back... Picture found here: http://www.padmeswardrobe.com/images/episodeII/padme/retreat/IIPD014.jpg Also, she has some sort of neat necklace on. I've seen the top part of it at Walmart and Claires. But you need to ad to it, because there is mopre than one layer, and it gets wider the further down you go. I would use something dull. Don't cut metal sheet for this, because the edges are VERY sharp, and you could easily injure yourself. Unless you could find some way to dull the edges... Maybe melting or sanding. But use extreem caution. I hope this helped. Also, if you need reference pictures, here is the place: http://www.padmeswardrobe.com/aotc_retreat.php Edit: Now that I think about it. You could use that foamy stuff. You know, it's like a sheet of paper... But it's made of foam! IT comes in a TON of different colors, and can be found at Walmart, Staple, and Joan's Fabirc. You could get tht and spray paint it silver.
In that picture, I don't think was any velcro or elastic. What you see tehre is the silk of the halter style dress. It clasps in the back with a small hook and eye. The small gold chain is part if the shell necklace. Mine is made of Sintra (expandable PVC) and it works great! ~Tally
I made mine with sintra as well...it turned out pretty good, but is a little thicker than planned. I tried to make another out of sculpey and piece it together, but had trouble forming it to fit right around my neck (I probably just need more experience working with the sculpey anyway). I'm thinking about getting thinner sintra and cracking some mother of pearl pieces (my aunt lives in Florida and has lots of shells) to make something of a mosaic for the white bits on the necklace. Any thoughts or tips? Aside from the headbands and hair (finally done ), this necklace has been a pain (but still kinda fun). p.s. Tally, your dress is BEAUTIFUL!
ok, I made a necklace with sintra,(yea, it was fun!) and it turned out pretty good, aside from the drip of gold paint at the top, which I could not wipe off in time nor paint fully over- [image=http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l172/jedichic07/000_0621.jpg] I don't have any use for it, it was a first run for the one I'm making for a friend, so if anyone fancies it, shoot me a pm. thought on what to do to imporve the next one?
