Where would this Star Wars Film Rank in the Star Wars Saga?

For me it would be 3rd

1. The Empire Strikes Back
2. Return of the Jedi
3. Revenge of the Sith
4. A New Hope
5. Attack of the Clones
6. The Phantom Menace

 

I really don't know. It is too early to tell, but I'll make a list for how I feel right now. One week from now, it might be different.

For me, as much as I loved TPM and AOTC, they'll always be at the bottom of my lists.

The OT switches around all the time.

I rank these movies in terms of how interesting the particular chapter is to me, and not really by looking at the film through a critics eyes.

me and Elbobin share the same preference except I say ROTS and ROTS are tied.

 

I think this is my ranking:

5. AOTC
6. TPM

 

I can't really rank them. All of the films have moments that I think are great, but most of them have parts that don't hold up after repeated viewings.

For example, the Throne Room scenes in Jedi are among my favorite in the entire saga, but I can't stand the whole middle third of the film; speeder bikes excluded. TPM is a fun film with some great action scenes, but it lacks the emotional component that the other six films have. By contrast, ROTS is so emotionaly taxing that I don't relaly see myslef watching it as often as the others once it is on DVD.

So I guess I avoided answering the questions. Sorry.

The last three are basically equal though.

 

It's REALLY hard for me to do this, mostly because ROTS is still too new for me to full absorb it. One thing I think of to help do these types of polls is what I call the "edit factor" or how much would you like to change or tweak.

Going by that, my rank is:

1) ESB (nothing)
2) ANH (1 minute - Greedo shooting first, the new Jabba scene)
3) ROTS (3 minutes - Brushing hair scene, the "hold me like you did on Naboo" line but not the scene, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO")
4) AOTC (20 minutes of exposition/romance scenes, plus some reshuffling around of the editing)
5) ROTJ (45 minutes - most of Endor)
6) TPM (1 hour 15 minutes - anything with gungans and most of tatooine is out for me)

Going by traditional ranking, right now it's:

1) ESB
2) ROTS
3) ANH
4) AOTC
5) ROTJ
6) TPM

I think it's funny how the first and last episodes are far and away the worst ones for me.

Wow - just goes to show how great SW is, when we can't even agree on an order!!

Unlike, say, LOTR, which gets worse as the trilogy progresses.
