Thrawn destroyed the Outbound Flight project. The Outbound flight project took place ca Ep. II. (It took place just before the outbreak of the Clone Wars, the beginnings of which will be in Ep. II, according to Lucas in the Insider.) Ep. II is ca. 30 years before ANH and HTTE takes place eight years (I believe) after ANH. That means Thrawn was in a military position of responsibility at least 38 years before HTTE, under Palpatine's direction. (This is implied in HTTE when Thrawn mentions Palaptine already being concerned with the elimination of the Jedi.) Before he came to the Empire, Thrawn was exiled from his own world, after having been in some position of military authority there (he had to have some power to have ordered the attack that got him exiled.) At minimum, I'd guess he's 70. I would think older. (He also seems older than Pellaeon to me, who, if he's been in the Navy 50 years, must be in his late 60s at the youngest.)

I have got to find something more productive to do than think about this...

I just posted over in the Thrawn Haters of the World - Unite thread. I was getting bored and I had to respond. Half those comments and points made by the Thread starter were kinda lamely put. He makes it sound like Thrawn himself planned everything out. Silly peoples.

I hate people who think that just because they see a dozen flaws in a character that no one else has noticed most of them, and STILL admires that character. He want's perfect, he can go think about how the VONG always seem to outsmart the NR . . .
