So, would you action lovers be willing to help a lost and confused writer? My fic has a highly anticipated lightsaber duel in the next post, but I have no clue how to go about writing it. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Basically, I have Anakin Skywalker fighting a Yuuzhan Vong warrior. The fight is indoors, so there would be obstacles like tables, chairs, other Vong, etc.

I think it depends on what you're trying to do with the scene. Are you wanting to show Anakin's frame of mind/thoughts? Does he have a particular objective? This will help you decide how much action to describe.

Use the obstacles (chairs, etc.) too, have BOTH characters use them, not just as weapons, but as shields, catapults, etc. Is the Vong using a lightsaber too, or just Anakin?

Most of all, what I do and advise is close your eyes. Picture the scene as if you were watching it in a movie theater. Then describe what you're watching. That's how the chase from Protest and the train sequence in Not an Option came about.
