Editors are probably American, and therefore know how to spell correctly. :D [face_devil] [face_flag]

I'm trying to start a trend, but it won't catch on. Voren's an insidious son of a gun. [face_frustrated]

Although I was quite thrilled to see Ms. Rostini using the proper system over on SW.com. One of these days I'll have to mosey over and commend her on that.

Or, believe it or not, some people find her writing to be sophomoric. Read both RepCom books, the first Wess'har novel, and attempted but had to stop in the second one. Enjoyed Hard Contact, Triple Zero was eh, and the Wess'har novels beyond terrible.

First part fine, commenting on writing. Second part not so much, commenting on the person.

    Back to the true topic

I like books that don't center around the Jedi, so I'm excited about this new book. I'll have to go back and read the last one because I remember next to nothing about it now.

I find it ironic that Omega is one of the squads that chose to repaint their armor the standard grey/black, instead of custom colors... maybe that's all this is about? 375 pages of dilemmas relating to insurgency, loyalty to the republic, individuality, and what pattern to paint one's helmet.

It is my fondest hope everyone will whisper "like a rainbow" to the screen each time the title's mentioned or uttered in public. ;)

    Order 66, coming right up!:D
In all seriousness though, I really can't see what else the title could be referring to, unless it really is a book expounding completely on the various color schemes used by the Commandos.[face_thinking]
EDIT: Did the article say when this is coming out?

Interesting title. I'm going with McEwok's and patchwork7's ideas here. And I doubt it's already Order 66--there's still Ko Sai waiting to be hashed and roasted. [face_skull]

What I don't quite like is that every time we get new threads about Traviss's work, everyone immediately sees a chance to continue bashing her... aren't we over this, yet?

A reference to why Anakin Skywalker's blade is green instead of blue in Jacen's vision!

I enjoyed Triple Zero, so I don't have any reservations about pre-ordering TC. I just find the more down-to-earth (or down-to-coruscant in Triple Zero's case) style of the RC stories to be a refreshing change from the usual epic adventure, "sitting around the table, bored and waiting for things to go boom" and all.

People have gotten over that? When did that happen? Did I miss a memo?

My thought (as also posted elsewhere) is that one of the references will be the 'Knights of calm and peace and other such stuff' will show their true colors when they find out the deal with Etain. These calm masters of "when your mind is at peace" are going to go ape***t.

Though I think that would be 1 of many (or at least multiple) True Colors being revealed...

Re-reading TZ now, and I personally can't wait until the next RC comes out. I really enjoy her fresh look at SW (including Bloodlines), especially the Mando'a stuff. She has a way of making that which falls below the level of the Skywalkers to be really interesting, and sometimes relevant to current events.

But I can see how people who really enjoy the escapism of SW wouldn't really care for that style.

As far as the title goes, I'm guessing it refers to the Nulls & Omega's dedication to Kal over the Republic. I don't think Order 66 is going to be touched yet, book 4 perhaps. Traviss did make alot of references to "Kal's private army" in TZ, so maybe that's how the True Colors reference comes into play.

Or it could be multi-level and be a combination of things.

    Either way, I can't wait. =P~

    More?:_|

There is nowhere that they aren't any more. They were supposed to be *dead*, gone, buried... instead they got ressurrected by some clone mandalore .

Honestly, I don't mind Boba Fett love, and I wouldn't have minded reading more stories about mandalorians back when they *were* a major power in the galaxy. Trying to bring them back to the forefront however = bad in my book. I'm almost tempted to wish that in the next special edition, Lucas has Boba Fett literally *torn apart* by the sarlacc before he's digested.

That'd make me laugh so hard. (Of course, he'd be more likely to insert a shot of him crawling out, as he said on the commentary)

Damn, now that song's in my head.

Well, after the messes of TZ and Odds I'll be skipping this. Fortunately, since I believe RC is on a separate contract, this won't use up any of the paperback slots.

Sadly, I wouldn't be surprised if a scene like that were included. Actually, I happen to have an excerpt to that effect right here:

Etain stood in front of the Jedi Council. Master Windu was yelling.
"How dare you join the awesome Mando'ade, Jedi Tur-Mukan!"
So much for Jedi peace, Etain thought. My Mando'ade burc'ya are much more kandosii. Kal Skirata stepped forward.
"Masters, I understand your anger. But doesn't the Jedi Code forbid that? Perhaps Etain has seen the flaws in your system."
Windu was taken aback. "Osik! You're right! We can all learn a lesson from you, Kal'dira!"
Kal smiled. "Of course I am."
Wow, Etain thought. Kal is so awesome. Not like the Jedi! Like Darman had said, "Her'cis kn'si'sy'a burky'durky".
Kal and Etain turned to leave.
"We'd better go back to base," Kal said. "There's sitting around to do. Those 1,000 clones in the Grand Army won't lead themselves."

Now, now Hydronium, you know the rules. No Mace Windu bashing!

Mace Windu would NEVER say "awesome."
