I'm still envious of the people who got to see that in theaters

 

The first time I saw it the sound was out of sync with the picture for maybe the first five minutes - it felt like an eternity.

I was planning to do that too There is so much in the film that I had to stop posting at certain places.

Well obviously ANH is next in the Saga, but Rebels is next chronologically, and though it has little to do with the Saga characters, it does continue the tale of the galaxy after ROTS on a broader scale. So it's a toss up for me. I feel the call to both continuations.


What a ramblingly self-evident observation. Oh well.

Nope, you aren't. I mean, for all I know, you may indeed hate the PT more than any other regular poster, but you certainly haven't been the most vocal.

Well, I suppose I don't talk about it much because I don't need to, but if I had to say which trilogy I prefer categorically, it'd be the OT to the PT. But to me it's no zero-sum game, and on a movie-by-movie basis it's pretty mixed up. However I can say I do not prefer TFA. Over the theatrical Clone Wars movie, sure, but not over the other six.

Edit: Also needless to say, I grew up with the PT. I don't have a real memory of SW before TPM became an official installment at least. But I understand that's not the case with everyone, of course.

Yep. Everybody and their dog likes the OT (besides one high school friend of mine who loved the PT but had never seen nor had any interest in seeing the originals, which always made me scratch my head), so I don't need to defend them. I don't need to defend Citizen Kane or The Rear Window either. Plus, and I've said this before, the OT forum on these boards is a little... dry. Posting in there is liking trying to play a game of PIG with Kobe Bryant. And also, unlike in the PT forum where apparently everyone has taken the philosophical bent that there is no ultimate truth (see: all the rando "what if" threads)(except that Godforsaken hangar scene on Geonosis. That was just an unmitigated nuclear event of course.) everyone on the OT forum has already made up their minds about the One Truth on Han Shot First and Jedi Rocks and Boba Fett's one line in ESB.

Sounds like everyone had a lot of fun last night. I had fun just reading the recaps.

I decided to go for it, and bought Mulan and Tarzan yesterday. I might as well watch all of the Disney movies I can in order.

I wonder what everyone thinks about the 3 I've watched already, Pocahontas, Hunchback and Hercules?
