From what I understand, they thought it was a little "swashbuckling" like too much like an old timey pirate. I kind of agree. And also it would seem unwieldy since I would expect that ponytail to keep coming out at odd moments. I do like the shorter hair, but I also liked his hair as it was before the extensions too.

The images of Hayden standing there as George Lucas runs his hands through his hair over and over again really crack me up.

 

I'd just like to note that I have embedded myself so thoroughly in this thread now, that whenever I get an alert from a different thread I'm momentarily confused and disoriented.
