Your job sounds like it would be a really interesting combination of awesome and awful, hahaha.

I took German in high school, actually, for several years. It's been a long time since I had any formal instruction but I speak it...OK. I've spoken German in German-speaking countries and I'm always SUPER nervous when I do, but I seem to manage...all right. A few times I've gotten the good natured "thanks for trying, Obvious American" laugh followed by someone speaking impeccable English at me, though.

 

I took German at school. Can speak basic and pretty good of understanding what people say. Also, I know how to inform people "I occasionally like to wear trousers" in French.

 

That's quite an apt description and contrary to popular belief it's not a glamorous job. Like not at all.

Yeah, most people speak English well over there- They start really early with English classes in school.

 

I'm going to picture you as Maeby Funke from Arrested Development from now on -- with her studio job, stuck reading terrible scripts.

Did you take it up to A-Level? I got a good mark for my German GCSE but I can barely follow a conversation in the language now, though that might just be my own number-clogged brain's fault.

Now I must relearn what I have unlearned.

Took French at uni, but opted for the pub instead during those classes.

 

Chatting up French people at the pub probably counts as coursework.

I have a funny story along those lines, that I cannot share without getting banned.

 

AOTC's novelization was the last of the PT's that I read. Pretty good.

Someone mistakenly gave me the young readers' AOTC novel in 2002. The adult novel had a nice scene of Jango going fishing with Boba. The kids' novel seemed to be written by someone who intensely disliked Jango Fett. Didn't even write his death scene.

So I got rid of it. Whoever wrote that kids' novel needs to be barred from ever writing anything in SW again.

 

Children novels of Star Wars live-action should constitute as crimes against humanity.
