Top memories of the RotS release include seeing the film in theaters three times, it was such a great experience.

Another memory is buying part 4 of the RotS comic at the grocery store before the movie came out, so yeah, spoilers, but it didn't bother me. Seemed like a logical way to play it out to lead to Episode IV. Still, during the movie, when it got to part 4 of the comic I was like oh no, pay no memory to that comic you just remembered.

All the ads on tv were fun especially the Yoda diner scene.

The night RotS was released on DVD, I drove to Walmart at midnight and bought a copy.
Got pulled over on the way home for a jack rabbit stop at a 4 way stop, there were no other cars, but still, I should have stopped. When the officer asked me what I was doing, I proudly held up my RotS DVD set and said I was on my way home to watch it. And he smiled and let me go with a warning to slow down and stop completely at the stopsigns.
I watched both discs including all special features all night, and I admit, owning a copy of the film was just as thrilling as seeing it in theaters.

Great movie. Many fond memories of that time. Oh another memory, I knew someone who had a bootleg copy on vhs like in June, before the official DVD release. It was poor quality, but interesting to see how fast they got a copy. Star Wars mania was driving people to make illegal vhs tapes! This is madness!

Just read ROTS is getting a theatrical re-release in May for the anniversary.
Anyone know if this is true? Just saw it on Instagram.

Matt Ferguson has been knocking it out of the park with these anniversary posters, and great to hear this is getting a theatrical rerelease.

I just hope it goes better than a screening I went to a couple years ago. It was a pretty well filled audience, but there was a lot of laughter throughout the movie. The prequels have had a nice resurgence thanks to the memes, but that screening emphasized how much of the dialogue has turned into a series of punchlines.

I love the film as much now as I did back then when I saw it in the cinema, the first I'd seen in the cinema since ROTJ. And after the disappointment of AOTC.

The new poster is truly awesome...or in Vader's own words, "most impressive". I found a textless version of it on Google Images, and ran it through an AI upscaler. Here's two versions, one at 6,000 pixels and the other at 12,000. Enjoy! [face_peace]

I hope this gets a wider release in the UK. The recent anniversary re-releases of Empire (saw it for its 40th just after covid) and TPM got shown in a lot of cinemas, whereas the 40th release of Jedi was shown in half the amount and none near me, so I missed out on that one.

This poster is ****ing badass. Really well-designed and encapsulates the movie’s scale and tone. I have the original 2005 poster in my room, but damn, I might need to buy this one too. :p

Incredible fan trailer; really captures the operatic, Faustian aspect of the film. Almost feels like a horror film

I think that fan trailer showed a little too much there my friend,

if that was the actual trailer in 2005 and I was spoiler free I'd have been pissed all the lightsaber fights had been revealed.

It would almost confirm Dooku's scenes are in one location.

It's neat, but a bit too spoilery.

    - Showing Nute Gunray's death is repeated here too, a mistake the original one did imo.

Great post Dags. You made me feel like I was back in 2005 for a minute! I don't think there ever was a better time to be a Star Wars fan. I remember booting up the DVD on school nights, just to see which menu intro I would get, and hoping every time it was the Coruscant one, before my parents busted me! :p
