It doesn't come out here until next year sometime. Lame. I wanna play some drums.

    This game kick ass.
    I love the drumming.
And I sang Don't Fear the Reaper and scored 100% perfect, on easy though.
    COWBELL FTW!!!

I'm slightly worried, I've been looking at the Harmonix forums and the UK guys there are thinking that it may not even get released over here for some reason...

The March 21st release date on amazon is looking increasingly unrealistic too, as none of the stores Game/Gamestation have a date on when it's coming in. God Damn, I want some Rock Band action.

Apparently it's because they're localising the content with new songs and things (more Aussie/British/Euro bands, for example). Plus the first run of instruments apparently sucked.

I've heard April for Australia...after all the waits for Square RPGs I can handle this one I think :p

Guitar Hero 3 is fun with GH2 as well.

However, I'm torn between saving up for this and a PSP. I really love RBs DLC that just keeps on coming though.

I want to play drums so bad. Don't know about the singing part though.

As long as I have the actual microphone, singing is my favorite part of the game. But singing through the 360 headset is uber lame.

Bottom line... Guitar Hero only has guitars.

Rock Band Has guitars + drums + mike

    ROCK BAND PWNS!
    Any questions?

If you have XBL, Rock Band is definitely the game to get. However, for those like me without XBL, Guitar Hero is the better deal, IMO. The soundtrack is leagues ahead of RB's, and RB's guitar gameplay can't hold a candle to GH3's (it all comes down to HO/POs).

IMHO, GH3 is just more fun.

saw this at Gamestop a few weeks back.... Rock Band Stage kit for summer release...includes colored floodlights and smoke generator kit that interacts with the game. Very cool. :p

thats taking it a bit far...

New UK release date on amazon of May 8th or something. Was originally March 21st or something, so a change to the date sounds more solid than someone just guessing at the date on other websites

Yeah, that's what Maulfly said. Still haven't gotten around to getting the boxed set yet (I want to soooo badly) so we can start our own band between me, Mauly, her sister and boyfriend, and call ourselves Strife and the Sith Lords :p

    Ha!

Why do you get to have your name stand alone? :p

Look at the Police, it will only lead to band uprising and so called 'musical differences', you'll be doomed from the beginning [face_mischief]

both are good, but GH3 is far and away harder. i can't play hardly anything on expert on it, or GH2. but just picking it up at best buy i pulled 97% first run through on a hard song, tried expert on a different one with a better result. so... if you want a challenge, go GH3, but that may be fixed later with DLC. however, the guitar is better with RB. after you get used to it. both are great, and i'm probably gonna own both at some point, but having GH2 and beaten GH3 via rental (still want to own it, as i haven't beaten it on hard yet and want to play it with my brother as well) i'll likely buy RB first. simply for the guitar and the ability to play it with my brother as well. either guitar's better than the GH2 one though, that thing is evil comparitively.

Rock Band seems to be a more social game, so if you're looking for that (and have a spare $160 around) then RB is the way to go. Guitar Hero is better for just sitting around and wanting to waste time. I just need to get the money for it. :(

How does Neversoft do it worse than Harmonix? By making a better HO/PO system? By constructing better graphics? The only things RB does better than GH, IMHO, are the drums and microphone. And considering GH (fortunately) doesn't offer either of those, that isn't actually surprising.

perfect description. RB is just easier. way too much easier for my taste. GH3 is a challenge, which is what i wanted. that and the presentation of the notes is soooooo much better in GH3.

Rock Band is more on music wise.
Guitar Hero plays like some kind of arcade game.
You'd be better off turning down the volume and just hitting the buttons when your color pops up.
