So here I am looking images from the guide recently added to the Wook. And I come across this guy. (Kik Hepho)

Hmm, blue skin, metal mohawk-plate thing in his skull. Where have I seen that bef-

Of course! Yondu got a nose job, and then went about infiltrating the GFFA!

I don't think it's a custom job. The X-Wing is called Blue One because it is flown by the leader of Blue Squadron. Poe's case is a bit different. As far as we can tell, Black One is a one-of-a-kind, and it's symbolic of the fact that Poe is basically acting as Colonel of D'Qar's fighter wing.

Oh, look Milvayne, the planet that caused Garm bel Iblis to break away from the Rebel Alliance is back in canon again:

I don't remember seeing that guy even as an extra - and I think I would have, because his helmet looks remarkably like the Guavian Death Gang's, which were pretty distinctive.

Hey, at least there weren't short stories, action figures, promo images, etc. implying that Tam Posla would be at least a minor character in the film. Although I wouldn't have minded an action figure, that's a cool design. Jedha alone could generate a limitless bounty of fascinating action figure designs, actually.

But hey, if Tam Posla was hunting down Dr. Evazan as his bio implies, he may have survived the destruction of Jedha, since Evazan did...paving the way for a story with him later. :p

Meanwhile, on an unrelated note I found out the Imperial tank is actually a real life armored vehicle they mocked up to look futuristic:

I think it's kind of lame they didn't use a hovertank and just went old school for no apparent reason.

Bought it today and looked quickly through it. Love it so far.. I mean, 2 pages for Jyn's toys only?! that is sooo cool and they are too cute.

Too bad they haven't included anything on Tarkin and Bor Gullet though...

But the updated galaxy map is well needed ;)

I am surprised no one has mentioned yet that the imperial tank was part of the Imperial Hammers tank unit.

I did in the hashtag I posted above! I'm going to have to crosspost it here, right? :p

    * One of Jyn Erso's aliases is Kestrel Dawn. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Raleigh_Dawn
    * Lyra Erso studied at the University of Rudrig, like a certain someone from Han Solo and the Lost Legacy
    * Death troopers *are* named after the zombie deathtroopers. Oh, and they wear reflec armor, like Blackhole's shadowtroopers
    * As reported, WEG's Cantham House is back, and it's the place in the deleted ROTS scenes
    * The Alliance basically follows WEG Rebel Alliance Sourcebook's structure: Chief of State and all Ministers are mentioned
    * General Draven's WEG connections: he works for Airen Cracken and hails from Pendarr III (from Wanted by Cracken)
    * General Merrick was part of the Rarifed Air Cavalry of Virujansi, like Gaven Dreis
    * Fun one: one of the generals in Yavin is Anj Zavor, an ANH extra named in an old Insider
    * Senator Jebel is from Uyter, Senator Pamlo is from Taris, both worlds represented in the talks in the deleted ROTS scene. Alliance continuity!
    * Obscure WEG reference: Milvayne, from the Last Command SB, the place where Mon Mothma and Bel Iblis parted ways
    * The WEG's reference I'm happiest about: the Ghorman Massacre is back! No word if Tarkin is still directly responsible, though
    * The tank at Jedha is descrived as a GAV (Ground Assault Vehicle), lore from WEG's Imperial Sourcebook
    * Oh, and the square in Jedha where the tank appears is called Tythoni Square. Hmmm.
    * Oh wow. Krennic hails from Lexrul, from WEG's awesome Bissilurus Campaign. I nearly missed that.
    * DS-1 Orbital Battle Station is back as the Death Star's official name. Dunno if this is news.
    * The ISD over Jedha is the Dauntless. It's a pretty typical ship name, so maybe not a wink, but it's from Riders of the Maelstrom
    * The captain of the Executrix is Hindane Darcc (spelled here as Darrc), of Dark Lord and Galactic Battlegrounds
    * Countless references to Carida and its Academy
    * Wow. The disaster at Syni IV, from Adventure Journal #12, is part of the bg of General Ramda, commander of Scarif Base
    * References to Seti Ashgad and Roche in Galen Erso's backstory
    * One of the scientists is a graduate of the Magrody Institute of Programmable Intelligence, a Children of the Jedi reference. HA!
    * A list of medical companies, all from WEG: Chiewab, Fabreth and a company from Merisee. Getting more and more obscure.
    * The Tierfon starfighter base is back, so are the Yellow Aces (but we knew that last one from TFA)
    * Green Twelve (who hails from WEG's Yelsain) is filling in for Puck Naeco (X-Wing videogame and, well, look it up, it's cool)
    * Atrisia mention!
    * Re:TIE pressurization dilemma. Yes, pressurized, but pilots wear flight suits because of lack of shields and danger of microimpacts
    * Telaris, from the Rebel Alliance Sourcebook, is where the Mon Cals reconvert their liners as warships
    * Mention of "23% of surviving twenty field missions" at Cassian's profile. More WEG!
    * More WEG! Binspo cards at Saw's hideout. Binspo is a game from Riders of the Maelstrom
    * As also reported, General Romodi and a condensed version of his bio in EGTW, are back
    * Blue Twelve comes from Generis. Another reference to the Atrivis cell from the RASB
    * Saw's staff is made off dxunwood. Reference to Dxun, of TOTJ and KOTOR 2 fame
    * A quote by a member of the Imperial Hammers Elite Armor Unit, an old fave from the Imperial Sourcebook!
    * Those red-cloaked pilgrims at Jedha hail from Lorrd (Daleys). Others from Isde Naha (Greater Javin Gazeteer). And one Anomid!
    * The Rebel soldiers in Scarif? Pathfinders, of WEG lore (and also Kes Dameron's regiment!)

When every gun in ANH was built from a real gun? Having their tanks built from real tanks honestly fits perfectly IMO.

But the guns in ANH, in-universe, are not real guns (a.k.a. slugthrowers), they're blasters.

I just think the Empire should have used an actual hovertank there. Hovertanks didn't get their due in the films.

    Instead they're using... a tank. [face_plain]

But the tank has blasters, not shells. :p

I do see your point though. But at least the VG does say that there's both a treaded and hover mode.

Which didn't sufficiently look like a tank to the average viewer; and even if it were otherwise, it didn't FEEL like a tank to the average viewer.

This thing? It FEELS like a tank, at a gut level, which is where it needs to be felt at.

Recall what Ron Moore said when pitching the new BSG, with regard to what he called NATURALISTIC science fiction...

Tython is mentioned in CL, so there's no need for a "hmmm".

I beg your pardon!? The Scots would be from Coruscant in this analogy! The Empire was not a solely English-driven enterprise, thank-you-very-much. [face_not_talking]

If this was an actual complaint about TPM, it's about the silliest one imaginable. The tank in Rogue One and more unusual sci-fi designs are both perfectly suitable for Star Wars.

It doesn't look like it was a complaint; more that Rogue One called for a more grounded, gritty-looking tank over the more sci-fi design of the AAT. Neither is necessarily better than the other, they're just serving slightly different story purposes.

I'm pretty sure there's a similar (though CGI) wheeled, gritty tank used by the Republic on Kashyyyk in ROTS.
