I especially like what I've read about the multiplayer versus mode. You can equip ships with secondary weapons they wouldn't normally carry, such as an X-Wing with cluster missles, or the Jedi Starfighter with proton torpedoes.

If the N-1 has cluster missles, it only means that the one the Rebels have has been modified to carry them is all. Remember, the N-1 in Rogue Squadron was pretty beat up, so they're obviously not using new models and have probably been forced to upgrade them to keep them on par with everything esle they use.

Might also explain why the N-1 in RS was so bitchin while in RL it was more standard-issue [face_batting]

I got it today, but Indiana Jones comes first. When I bought a DVD the three top reasons were:

    The Beatles Anthology
    The Indiana Jones Trilogy
    and
The Non-SE Star Wars Trilogy (I will still hope until I die)

I just looked at the screenshot next to it. It has proton torpedoes. They just gave it the wrong weapon in it's description. Although you could have cluster missles in the versus mode. ;)

I just started this game today and I must say I am very impressed! The multiplayer co-op was surprisingly difficult. My friend and I could barely get through the Death Star and Nebula missions and we got stuck on Hoth. As for the one player, I love it. I finished the Luke themed missions, and I am very happy with the results. The on-foot missions seem clunky, but I was expecting much worse. I commend Factor 5 for having the guts to try something new. The ground based vehicles were excellent, the speeder bike in particular was superb. All in all I say Rebel Strike is the best in the series.

Oh and how can I forget those stunning visuals? How in the world Factor 5 managed to revamp the visuals another notch is beyond me...My GC even froze up because it was processing so much today! lol

    Gamepro gave it

    4.5 Graphics
    4.5(think) sound
    2.5 control
    4.5 funfactor

2.5 control? it controls almost exactly like rogue leader, and rogue leader got a better score.

    Anyway...(spoiler below)

Why does the jedi starfighter has seismic charges?

It shouldn't but they associate seismic charges with the Jedi Starfighter because of Episode II.

The two ships i'm SO looking forward to piloting:

    TIE Hunter
    Jedi Starfighter.

Can you play the multiplayer on your own with bots or do you need to have a living opponent/wing man?

BTW The sarlacc pit level is a secret level, and the last one for Luke i think ;) :)

The one snowspeeder level with Luke pissed me off (the second level of luke i think)... cause they use there tow cables on the walker. But that misses up Empire Strikes Back because.. why didnt they just go for the legs to begin with in the hoth battle. And that new Tie Fighter.. How do you explain that into the trilogy?

I should have just rented the game and bought the Indiana Jones trilogy on dvd.

Rebel Strike owns only when its in direct relation to the movie levels and Super Star Destroyer Levels.

    IYHO.

The TIE Hunter can be explained by saying the fighter was too expensive to manufacture in bulk, especially after what happened to the prototype [face_laugh]

Personally, I'm just thrilled that they've spent as much time adapting the OT as is. My personal dream is for Raven to do a Star Wars Trilogy FPS in the vein of the Jedi Knight games. Couple that with the Rogue series and you can live the movies. That'd be very groovy.

Hmm... i agree. I'd love to see that. I mean if they make another Rogue Squadron game and continue to improve the foot-based sections, that's the game we may end up with.

I would give the controls a 2.5 also. The frickin' on-foot controls suck.

I'm just invisioning a Jedi Knight game about THE Jedi Knight, Luke Skywalker. They could use basically the same game setup, Luke could advance in Force powers as we follow his story in the films. Start out on Tatooine, looking for R2 all the way though Luke vs. Vader II on the Death Star. I unfortunately haven't gotten RS yet, but I'm looking forward to it immensely. As much as I love the old Super Star Wars games, I'd really like a good, 3-D Star Wars trilogy for home use.

Yeah onfoot is weak. What do you guys think of the Fondor shipyards?

Tag and Defend has a cool strategy twist to it.

No, you don't need a wingman, but I think you have to have a second player.

Fondor shipyards is my favorite so far!
Flying fast and low between those structures, blowing up gun turrents and ties, too fun!

The Ender speeder bike chase is surprisingly fun, too!

Yeah. The speederbike on Endor is much more fun than I thought it'd be. It's a blast!!! So is the Endor walker level. I'm also impressed with the battles above Geonosis.

    The Jedi Starfighter kicks ass!

Still though, there's alot about this game that I don't care for. It's not that it's horrible, it's just some sections are very UN-spectacular.

It seems to me that some of the cinema's between levels take longer than the time it takes to complete the levels.

With Luke, I made it to Endor in no time. It seemed very short. I already like Wedge's storyline much better. And I'm only 2 missions in.

Complete all standard single single-player campaign missions.

BTW, Return of the Jedi arcade is unlockable by a password ONLY!!! WTF?! Why by password only?
