I don't think there are any out yet. I'm not expecting any until about the middle of next week, or possibly the week after that.

    >> Also, has anyone found the power-ups on the beginning Yavin level and/or the Hoth level? <<

On Hoth, use your e-web blaster to take down the first of the three drop-deployed AT-ST's. Then get off the turrent gun and run over to where it was and you'll get an upgrade. Then run back to the e-web and finish off the walkers fast ::)

I'm really enjoying this now, it definately has a different feel to Rogue Leader, visually it's a step up from RL but it doesn't give me the "wow" factor that RL gave me but thats probably because the cube has some stunning looking games in it's line up now. At-st is very satisfying once you get used to the controls.

I'm off to play RL in co-op now.

I don't know if anyone said this yet, but the voice acting on Wedge was terrible. Didn't they get the original Wedge for RL? Why not here? Otherwise, a very fun game.

Yeah, they could have found a guy to do Wedge who could do a better impression of him than the one they settled on. I can see why Denis Lawson might not be too crazy about doing Wedge for the rest of his life, but it's not like there aren't plenty of good vocal mimics out there. Hell, the guy doing Luke is pretty close.

Minor gripe, though. Most of the voice acting in this is excellent.

WTF oh no the voice acting is horrible Han solo is no where even close as niether is Leia the ground missions suck and the Flight missions are way to short. the only saving grace this game has is co-op game play on RL levels. And why oh why do we keep getting new versions of the same battles will factor 5 please wake up and give us the originality of Rouge Squadron back please please please. You can only fight Death Stars and the battle of Hoth so many times it gets old and please why is it in the ground missions you can not move the camera if you design a game please take the time to do it right. i would have waited another year to get a suitable RL replacement this game feels like it was rushed.

Yeah, I found all those, but they don't do me any good. See, I'm trying to get cheats and/or level passwords, so I get the levels and ships and tech upgrades, and maybe even invincibility and unlimited missiles, without having to do the work.

(Edited cause I was mean. It's late and I'm not in a good mood. I apologise to anyone who saw it before the edit.)

The TFN main page is mentioning the fact that the end sequence of this game features the original edit of the Ewok celebration from ROTJ.

    This isn't really the case.

What it shows is the SE edit with the original "Yub Nub!" tune played over it. Other video sequences in the game feature edited scenes which often include different music cues and mismatched dialogue to fit the available space. These video clips aren't necessarily scenes from an upcoming DVD... they're doctored, edited pieces of OT footage designed to be cutscenes in a video game.

"You can only fight Death Stars and the battle of Hoth so many times..."

yeah, maybe you get tired of it, but to factor 5 I say, keep em coming. Plus the battle of hoth in RS3 is completely different then what you do in the other RS games.

The only major problem I have with the game is that the speeder bike seems faster then the swoop, Isn't it suposed to be the other way around.

Has anyone seen the new commercial with Admiral Ackbar? Is there any way someone could capture it and post it here at TFN to download?

There is a way to get those dang TIES off your back in Bespin bonus level. Just pull back on the C-stick to aim the Millenium Falcon's twin lasers at the TIE.

Ummm . . . now I got a problem. I've got Silver & Gold medals on all the Bonus & Campaign missions. Except Fondor. Every time I play, I get to the first Cloaking Device and a friendly screams and then dies. Then, once I get to the second Cloaking Device, another friendly screams and dies. I always beat this mission, but I always have two friendlies killed and those totally screw up my chances for getting at least a Silver. I even used the Millenium Falcon to scream over the surface of the SSD, totally ignoring the first Cloaking Device and going for the second. But then once I got there, two friendlies screamed and died within TWO seconds of each other. How the heck do I get my friendlies to not die, as I have played this mission at least 10 times, and always lose two friendlies. IT'S DRIVING ME INSANE!

Hmmm... Is getting them to retreat an option?

Assign them different things at different times.

I think this is something you'll just have to keep trying.

I got a silver last night and I assigned them to take out the guns the very first thing.

On another note... SLAVE 1 is MUCH better now than in RL. It can turn much better than in RL plus it has seismic charges this time 'round.

But, it still can't take much punishment and some levels like the attack at fondor, it can't possibly survive because of it's size.

Well, I've opened up every bonus level excpet for Endurance (and from the footage on the selection screen, it looks like it's all on foot, so I'm not particularly interested in unlocking it at this point anyway) and I must say that there's some good stuff here.

Attack on the Executor is quite cool. I really dig the SSD levels in this game. They're quite close in style to the brief shots of the fighters skimming the surface of the Executor just before the A-Wing crashes into the bridge. Very satisfying to play, IMHO.

Here's a question... how many here, especially the older folks, think that Lucas and company originally pronounced this thing "EX-ecutor" rather than "Eg-ZEC-yuter" when they were making ESB back in '78 and '79? I mean, when he's got Star Destroyers called things like "Avenger" and such, it seems to me that he'd have been going for a more active, violent, warlike type of imagery, and just kind of made up a word to sound like "Execute". Do y'all honestly think that he meant to use the actual word "executor" in the legal, paper-shuffling sense? May as well have called it the "Chairman" or the "CEO" or the "Chartered Accountant" for all the dramatic value it carries. Hell, I'm executor of my parents' estates, and I don't have so much as a tractor beam concealed about my person. ;)

Hoth and Bespin are fun, but again... I really think that if there is a 4th game in the Rogue Squadron series, it ought to leave out the on-foot missions, and IMHO be completely independent of the SW films, even moreso than the first RS game for the N64. Not necessarily a post-ROTJ story, but definitely a storyline which doesn't connect up with the battles from the movies. Perhaps those things can be obliquely referred to, but it just seems to me that there would be plenty of opportunity to create campaigns which are self-contained, and which occur, say, during the three years between SW and ESB. Or even in the short time between ESB and ROTJ. In a war like this, there would certainly be many battles other than the three big ones, and IMHO that's where the next Rogue Squadron should come from.

If not that, then perhaps something along the lines of the X-Wing Squadron novels. Certainly there would be plenty of room to create scenarios where Rogue Squadron is taking on Imperial warlords and freeing planets from the remaining Imperial forces. I just think it's time to get past being tied to the films, especially now that we've got a game in which all of the major battles from the films have been featured.

I have a quick question for you guys. I preordered my game from Lucasarts a while ago, but due to some problems I probably won't be able to receive it until near the end of next week. I could call them up Monday and wait a few more days for the game, with the hope that they'd still send me the Bonus disc, or I could just go out and buy it now. Is the Bonus disc worth getting? Is there anything cool on there other than the arcade game (my reason for wanting it)? And are the arcades unlockable as secret missions in the actual game? Thanks for the info.

Possibly levels based on the Bacta War and the recapture of Coruscant? Perhaps a level loosely ties into The Truce at Bakura?

It is a very strong possibility. I would also like to see more EU Ships. I really want that Chiss Clawcraft ;)
