Discussion ROGUE SQUADRON - Patty Jenkins Film Potentially Back On

Taking more time and not adhering to a pressure cooker timeline is a good thing. I’m good with the films taking their sweet time. In the meantime, we have great Star Wars TV.

 

If a film needs to be delayed delay it

 

Good question, from the sound of things they'll be covering similar ground in terms of characters. Could they compete against each other even though RS is set in a GFFA?

 

I’m all for delaying the film until it’s right, especially after seeing how TROS ended up after being rushed. We have plenty of content in the meantime.

 

That would be interesting if the film was delayed to make it fit with the shows/movies better.

 

So... is it realistic that they have a movie they will release in 2023 if they push this back? Seems to me it may not be. Unless they are announcing something on the 12th; they would have to get it together right away. Only 2 years away.

 

That would seem to make sense if they had something going already; they could announce it later this month. I hope that happens instead of waiting another year for a movie.

 

They’ve already released the full schedule for D23, and none of it deals with forthcoming releases, save for a panel that seems to recap the Disney+ Day. It seems to be almost entirely centered around the WDW 50th anniversary.

 

Doesn't sound like we are likely to get a movie until 2024.....

So Old Republic seems more and more likley as no doubt they don't have a movie set for 2023.

 

A few months ago I posted on here and said that there was no way LFL would move forward with Patty Jenkins after the disaster that was Wonder Woman 1984 and I was ripped apart for it.

 

I knew something was up. At the DC fan event thingy last month, Jenkins made mention that she was "now working on Wonder Woman 3". That statement at the time left me scratching my head. No more. Hey, at least it wasn't the usual "creative differences" chestnut.

 

And that statement is still as wrong now as it was back then. Her schedule is booked because she has DEMAND!

What happened? Another delay for a star wars movie? Guys I get it but I don't want to wait another bunch of years for a star wars movie. I was looking forward to this one.

 

Big Screen Leaks says production on Rogue Squadron was not going well behind the scenes.

 

Rian Johnson continues to be the only person capable of a smooth production on these films

 

Yeah Penkins needs more time and help, give old republic in meantime.
