first off if you got the opportunity to work for lucasfilm you wouldn't care in the least if you got to to be asked.

best of all paid holidays and all the cool stuff like getting to ride in a parade float.

No offense, I just said she wasn't just a paid model and she is a costumer(though not in the Rebel Legion, she is in a FF in CA). It is just awesome we could participate. LFL could have hired ALL models to play all of the roles and not used the legion of costumed fans that are available(and pretty screen accurate and look-a-like to boot). We orignally thought it would just be the 501st anyway.

I watched the KTLA version too (my local channel). Their pre-parade stuff had a bit about the SW group (interviews with "Packing Dress" Padme, Chewbacca, etc.), and a couple of their reporters seemed enthusiastic and knew their SW information pretty well (or at least did their homework!) I did wish they could have spent more time on the entries during the parade, though.

Well still... it was fun to watch. Hey, how about that Maul, does anyone know who he is? Or how about the Jango?

Both are from the 501st, I believe. The Maul's name is Shawn but I am not sure about the Jango. Shawn is in the RL as well.

Hey DarthManos, welcome back! It's great to hear from you and to learn that Biba had a hand in the parade. :)
A few of us have been pondering which Amidala costumes used in the parade were duplicates as opposed to film used costumes. Maybe Biba knows? :)
    Thanks for the pictures too!

swguru, I look foward to seeing your's as well!

getting up a 2 am and working all day.

It was truly a sight to behold!!!

Made me wish I had the ducats to spend on a stormtrooper
    outfit.

    Sighhhhh

and any ideas on the photo link code?

Oh and when will someone do a photoshop of Bob Eubanks' head
in the hands of a stormtrooper? "Theres a buncha guys who need
    to get a job." ??????????

Click on the URL of the photo you want to post, this now automatically copies it to your clip board with Photobucket. Then click the "image" button above the box here where you type your message, then paste the URL in there at the prompt. And viola.

Back from the parade. Caught my baby daughter's cold staying up trying to fix a few catastrophes with my gown, only to arrive and be told:
"Oh, we've got a gown for you from the archives. George liked your look and wants it worn in the parade." (I found out more details later, as in he also liked the coloring of the archival gown better, and I can't say I blame him...!) So, after staying up endless nights scrambling to finish my gown, I didn't have to wear it. AND, I'm not complaining!

    /sigh

The only thing that would have made it better was if I could have taken it home with me, babysit it until, say, Cel IV or whenever...:~)

The Hero Troop (wait, was that what we called ourselves?) had a marvelous time together, even if we were sort of on the sidelines a lot of the time.

Lots more details later, but need to go pop some more cold medicine, take a long, hot bath, and get some sleep.

    Happy New Year, everyone!

Check out the news page of http://www.rebellegion.com for a list of the Rebel Legion members that were in the parade (either in RL costumes or in their 501st costumes)
And FYI Bryan Morton's Rebel profile is here: http://www.rebellegion.com/cos.asp?COSID=1613

Wow Bant! They had a handmaiden costume there for you? That's so cool!

I hope you got to see the HGTV broadcast because you were shown quite a lot. :)

Wow, GentleBant, that is quite a compliment coming from the Maker. And too bad you didn't get to babysit the gown for like 4 months. "The Hero Troop" did great!!! I was screaming at the TV for more close-ups of you all(like they could hear me).

EDIT: I am reposting this from the RL forum. Everyone go vote for the SW float!!!!

i just wanted to congratulate everyone in the parade for finishing all 5.5 miles of it! and looking really, really amazing!

before anyone else criticizes the storm troopers again- consider this... all 4 times i did the tournament of roses honor band we began rehersing in october and november on sundays, then saturday and sunday in december and then every day except christmas from about the middle of december on, marching 6-7 miles in the final days around the doger stadium... and still it was very difficult when we actually did the parade. and what did these guys have? an entire afternoon of practice? they kicked bantha tracks! and no one should discount how nerve raking it is knowing you are in on international live t.v. with an audience in the millions... and even more props to them for doing it with a big plastic bucket on their heads. ; )

wow! that was the coolest thing ever. i've had so many people calling me to tell me about the parade... 'why were't you in the band again?'... sniff-sniff... when i get my biological body...

    anyway, good job!

I'm curious. If George had given "Order 77" would you guys have attacked the crowd?

Thank you for the correction about Kelsey. I knew that but misspoke. :)

GentleBant, what a treat! While you probably wished you had known earlier, it is still really awesome to wear something from the archives.

Everyone did a great job. I can't wait to see photos from the other side of the parade route. My husband was a stormtrooper carrying one of the flags. He carried Florida's flag and was in the forth row (on the outside). Hopefully somebody will have photos of him. [face_love]
