Unclassifiable Limited Run CLOSED RPF Summertime Super Epic Fun Game!

Closing Time

The news hit Alex harder than even he’d expected. The Epic Fun Park was closing, which meant that summer was officially over. He’d graduated High School already so, he was all too glad not to return to the failed and nightmarish social experiment- there were no happy memories for him there.

But without the Park, a place that he’d slowly grown fond of, he’d have to find a real job - which would be very boring, filled with boring rude and nosey adults - and terrible bosses. He’d heard ALL the stories, none of which were encouraging. Roy and Remy may be a bit strange and a bit too enthusiastic about the sketchy rides they set up, but at least they were fun. Alex was feeling a bit in the dumps at the prospect of having to go get a REAL job- a place he’d just go to die for the rest of his life.

{{ Don’t! }} He suddenly chided himself, forcing his mind to switch gears. This was not how he wanted to spend his last day at the Park. Nope.

He’d turn his focus to a worthier task than sulking. Choosing the right T-shirt: This was a sacred ritual, and a bit more complicated this time. ‘Han Shot First’, ’Sith Lord’, ‘Dr. Doom’,’Black Adam’.…or…hmmmm....maybe something by Alex Ross?

Alex finally settled on his Yo****aka Amano, ‘Vampire Hunter D’ T-shirt. It certainly fit his mood he was feeling.

For some reason, he had hoped his mood changed once he got to work, but it had not. Alex kept busy, absently cleaning off portions of rides as they were being dismantled, mostly to distract himself, but also not to be undone by Ravynne, who was working diligently at disinfecting the Embalmer. She also likely did not have a sense of smell as Alex felt nauseated by the amount of bleach being used.

Watching Jason chase after some of the more feral animals was only mildly amusing and partly chuckle worthy. The boy was both smart and brave. He would go far in life, at least that was his opinion on the matter.

The guys storing all the equipment were all burly and strong, which reminded Alex that he had to start working out a lot more. Though he was healthy and athletic, he was still relatively unimpressive by comparison. That would have to change - needed to change. Especially since he wasn't feeling confident enough to even ask Ravynne for her snapchat.

Still, at the end of it all, getting a bonus check had been an unexpected and very welcomed surprise. Alex smiled and shook the boss’ hand. He promised he’d come back for the party.

On the next afternoon, Alex showed up with his Darth Vader shirt on. It was one of his favorites. The mood was festive and he let himself get into the celebratory mood. The caterers certainly did a great job, as the platters available were excellent! Nothing compared to what was sometimes served for lunch. This stuff actually tasted fresh!

Big Boss Roy got everyone’s attention to make an announcement. They were all getting gifts!!

Alex’s eyes grew as big as dinner plates and his mouth fell wide open. He visually gauged he size and dimension of the boxes…..wait a minute…..

“No WAY!!” He exclaimed aloud, totally besides himself with joy as he accepted one of the boxes.

“Boss!? Are you serious…!!??

Alex unwrapped the box, then looked from the box to his Boss and back to the box.

“A PS5!!!”

Alex ran to Roy and Remi and give them each a quick hug! This was better than X-mas for him.

“Guardians of the Galaxy, Call of Duty, Spider-Man, Overwatch, Ultimate Ninja Storm 4, Titan Fall, Red Dead Redemption, Grand Theft Auto…..Awwww Maaaaaan!!!!”

Alex was at a loss for words.

“Thank you!!” he managed to say finally. This was so totally amazing, it bordered on overwhelming. So now everyone knew he was a total gamer with no life, but in the moment, he didn’t much care if he was being judged. He was happy and that’s all that mattered. Things couldn’t possibly get better than this.

Could it?

Roy distributed small boxes among them, which confused Alex for a moment. What could possibly be in such a small box? Alex scrunched his nose. This had better not be a pinky finger in a box sort of thing….ugh.

Nope. Wrong you are kiddo!

“We’re all going to Disney World over Fall break! It’s for us to scout ideas for next summer!”

“Whaaaaaaaaattttt!!??”

Alex was in total disbelief! This had to be a dream! Right?”

Nope

The card in his hand was legitimate confirmation of reality.

Then, and for no reason at all, Alex simply jumped for joy!
