Entry # 28

Intel mission and sabotage mission, 101 for me stopped at Naboo this week. Here, we're just gathering intel and no sabotage. A pity, watching people for days on end can sometimes be rather boring, even if it does have to be done. But not this time.

When I was at the market, I saw this one burly guy approach a butcher asking for a large nerf roast. The largest that the vendor had for sale to be precise. That might not seem very interesting on the surface, except for the fact that the burly customer was totally and completely, over the hill,drunk. And really, really happy about it.

After a while, said burly one returned to the stall and the butcher who had seen him wasn't there. So, he asked for the guy's name. Then started calling out 'Drake, Drake' until the butcher returned from the back and asked him what his problem was. At that point, the burly one thanked him profusely for the nerf roast and shook his hand, calling him the best butcher in the whole sector.

I had no idea of what to make of it. The butcher and his assistant started laughing so hard at it once the guy left, that I thought they'd split in half. That was quite the sight too.

Aside from that, the intel gathering continues. I really hope I do get to mess with something soon in terms of sabotage. Not having my hands involved in some sort of mechanical problem is starting to drive me a little batty!

Okay, the incident at the butcher's has to be significant. But how? I look forward to finding out!

Entry # 29

Next stop in our tour of snoop and sabotage the Mid Rim. This time, we went to Angratha, known the galaxy over for exporting frozen foods to everyone from your local market vendor to the Imperial military. It's the last one obviously that interests us.

Here, we're following up some rumours that we heard on Naboo regarding some sort of build-up in the Mid Rim involving all sorts of material meant for some new Imp base or massive Imp strike against the Rebellion. So, we're going to be playing snoop the supplier and sabotage what we can to hinder their progress. That's where I come in, with my trusty tool kit of course.

When I went with some of the others to scope out the factory power stations that I'm to mess with, I saw the oddest thing. I could swear I saw the burly drunk guy from the market place in Theed dressed in Imperial uniform talking to the plant workers there. This can't possibly be a good thing. But we'll go ahead anyways if we can and get out as fast as we can.

Aside from that, guess I'll have to keep an eye out for more sightings of the burly one and make note of them for future reference. No doubt intel probably will want to know about it, so I better try my best to pay attention.

Next stop: Chamble, headquarters of Bansche Tec. I get to see some new tech and sabotage some really interesting stuff. For me, it's a win-win!

Entry # 30

The whole mission to the factories on Chamble were a complete wash, except for the part where we did manage to go and blow up the production side of things. That'll set them back for awhile but they found us before we could set the explosives that would have taken out the warehouses as well as gather a full summary of their dealings with the Imperials. Wouldn't you know it?

This whole thing stinks. It really truly does and the Imps killed one of our own today. Not the first Jedi to fall to them and probably not the last either. But it's shaken me a little bit and I have no idea of what to make of it.

You remember the lovesick Padawan I was complaining about? Well, he was the one that died today. I have no idea of why it had to happen and definitely don't think that he deserved it. He was just some goofy guy around my age who proclaimed that he was in love the moment he saw me and I just brushed him off, putting my head back into the engine block so to speak. Would it have made things better had I actually gave things a go with him? Or would it have made things worse?

Honestly, I have no idea. Too many possibilities, all too jumbled to get a clear read on anything. Anyways, next link in the chain takes us to Uyter, another agriworld, more shipping involving foodstuffs.

Hopefully, this'll be a little less deadly and a lot less of a wash.

How frustrating to only get part of the objectives for the mission accomplised. i can totally feel Sana's jumbled emotions about the comrade they lost. just raises a whole bunch of thorny questions

Definitely. They get there and manage to blow up some stuff but are forced to leave the rest...I knew that personally that leaving a job half finished would bother me a lot. Thanks~ I'm glad that it worked there for 'Sana's emotional state and it definitely raises a whole bunch of thorny questions...one has to remember that here, 'Sana is only 16. A relatively mature 16 I think but she's still got a lot of growing up to do but she has to do it whilst fighting in a war.

 

Thanks for reading and the review. Hopefully I don't disappoint and we'll soon get from the war back to the prank war.

As to that, I've kind of missed writing that and for some reason, I've now got it into my head that I'd like to see where someone else could try and take that concept that I've developed with the prank war here. What do you think? Good, bad, or indifferent? Too funny to contemplate?

Entry # 31

Mission to Uyter went somewhat better. Didn't loose anyone else and managed to get the information we needed without too much of a hassle. Now on our way back to base, where I'll probably be for awhile on 'downtime' instead of more snooping and blowing things up. Or making it so that it all won't work anymore...machines I mean, not people.

But returning back to base, which right now is as close to home as anywhere, I've started wondering. Has the whole Jawa information overload completely worked on Janson, really? Is he still stuck on that woman who actually thought that the whole talking robotic Jawa was cute and sweet enough to warrant a date? Will there be pranks now that revolve around Sullustians or Gand? Will Hobbie again be helping him with the pranks for whatever reason that Janson has managed to keep holding over his head?

Questions I need answered but might not want the answers to. Oh well, I'll probably know soon enough anyways.

Entry # 32

Back with the fleet. Well, I should say base. We stopped briefly at the fleet before heading off to the new base, a planet whose name is unpronounceable by humans. So, we just call it Haven. Hopefully, it will prove to be just that for more than the few months after Yavin that we spent on Thilia. Being at one place for more than a month or two would be a welcome change of pace.

I also had to deal with a sight that I really wish that I never had to see. One that will haunt my nightmares for decades to come if I should ever see it again. Corran and Mirax were going to meet me but they apparently were too busy to remember the time our shuttle was supposed to pull in. There was a reason for that too and one that I had to unwittingly see when I decided to go looking for them.

They were...how shall I word this without it sounding, well beyond awkward, weird and completely freaky. I saw them in a seculded corner of the hanger, preoccupied with each other. Does that sound right? Hmm...no, I suppose not. Hard to use words to describe something as horrifying as seeing your brother making out with his girlfriend. I didn't say a word, I just bolted and tried to come up with a way of getting that sight out of my head. The whole thing is definitely not an experience I want to repeat. Or let anyone know that I unfortunately had to see.

Maybe some day I'll find a way to get Corran back by returning the favour? Force, I hope not.

The singing mechanical Jawa is over. The other Rogues got together while I was away and smashed it, or threw it out an airlock. I'm not sure which and it seems the story changes depending on who you ask. So, I'll just stick with the knowledge that Janson's newfound dating pick up technique is officially over. As is the relationship with the leggy woman who for some reason thought it the cutest thing in the galaxy. Insert collective groans and gagging here.

The prank war has taken a new turn with Janson's latest obession. Gand. I'll leave it to your imagination for now what he is now doing with pranks revolving around a race of sentient insects.

Gotta go fix a few hundred power converters...take me the next week to do that.

Entry # 34

There must be something wrong with that man. There really must be if he's going to pull stunts like this and think that he's going to get away with it. I'll spare mentioning who he is and just get down to describing what he did. If you know who he is, I know who he is, so there's no point in beating an already dead bantha any further.

What he did is put a bunch of non-descript speakers and voice recorders around my repair bay, as well as in the pastisteel containers containing parts we need to repair or get up to spec. These speakers and voice recorders then torment my team and I with nothing but Gand chatter all day. I got a bit bored after we finished our work one day and got out Tresher's guide book to see if it had any idea of what that chatter meant. It did- and most of it wasn't pretty or very nice.

So, to recap: we now are being tormented by Gand noise all day and I've learnt most if not all the crude language and colourful undertones that happen in Gand. That I could do without. I could also do without non-descript speakers and voice recorders that once you find them, they won't turn off unless you memory wipe the lot. That is a boring and thankless task. Maybe I should make him do it and see how he likes it?
