Oh you misunderstand. I agree. I was more refuting the logic that an illusion of choice means anything here. I agree she isn’t an idiot. I very well may have made the same choice for my family. I almost certainly would have. There is no bond greater for a human than your family.

anyway my point was some people are acting like her choice isn’t as bad because Baylan probably would have taken the compass anyway. Which is likely true. But that doesn’t matter as she still gave it willingly even in the illusion of choice there is still the choice to not hand it to him willingly.

So Sabine is responsible, at least in part, for Mando genocide, for the likely return of Thrawn and subsequently possibly undoing the heroic sacrifice of the guy she is trying to save and is a for now failed apprentice with almost no force connection - that’s rough.

I mean she’s responsible on that she helped free Mandalore. Better to die free then subjects of the empire.

Considering that Baylan had to hold the map in his lightsaber’s blade for a good 5 seconds to destroy it, I doubt Sabine’s mando blaster would have even scratched it. Maybe she intuited that after having examined it on Lothal and realized Baylan had pretty much called her bluff.

It seems clear he was using the force to read her mind and sense her feelings, which meant he knew exactly what to say to manipulate her. It looked like she might have realized that power was being used on her too, which is when she gives up and hands over the map. She must have understood he was far more powerful than her and her chances of escaping with the map were pretty much zero, dude could just force-pull it out of her hand if he wanted.

All said, I’m not judging Sabine too harshly for this one.

Props to Natasha for a dope lightsaber fight, left it all in the studio =D=

Sabine seems to have made a big mistake, but I get why she did.
-They all lost Kanan on Lothal. And then Ezra disappeared shortly after that.
    -Sabine's Mandalorian family is gone.
-Sabine doesn't even know if she's force-sensitive or not. She's tried multiple times to use the force and failed. She's insecure and doubting herself.
It also shows how much faith Sabine has in Hera, Ahsoka, and hopefully Ezra that she knows they can defeat Thrawn and his minions.

Plus it looked like Ahsoka died and Sabine probably knew she would be dead if she destroyed the map.

I don't think it is faith that her friends can beat Thrawn (or even if it is - many people would still be dead, so that is no excuse) or some master plan on her part, just pure depression and hopelessness doing the thinking.

Rebels talked a lot about the power of hope, but now we see how even a hero can be crushed without it.

I will be very disappointed if they go down a "Sabine is turning to the dark side" path. Her Jedi-in-training story was very been-there-done-that and so would a falling to the dark side story.

I was bit confused how Baylan seemed to refer that Ahsoka would perhaps be connected to loss of Sabine's parents? Maybe I misunderstood something. I think it was Empire and bombing on Mandalore that probably killed them? Was Ahsoka connected to that somehow? Since Bo-Katan was and since she was around at the time it is possible.

When Sabine put her helmet on, the Armorer, watching from home was thinking, "oh I REALLY like Sabine now" and then two seconds later when Sabine's helmet popped off the Armorer was all, "oh never mind. She sucks again."

Yep, Sabine realized Baylan could easily kill her and take the map. By handing him the map she saved her own life, bought herself a ticket to Ezra and lives to fight another day.

Calling it now. Sabine’s helmet has a beacon/tracker in it that Hera/others after the find it on the ground in the forest they use to get to her. Sabine uses the Helmet to lead her friends to her.

There's a significant problem with this theory, as much as I like it. I find it extremely hard to believe that a tracker would work at an intergalactic level.

On another topic, I saw someone saying somewhere on social media that they were certain that Sabine used the Force to "Force slap" Shin Hati at the forest, but to me it seemed as if she did absolutely nothing with the Force. It felt like Shin Hati's reaction was a reflex to dodge a Force attack that never landed. And the line "You have no power" reinforces that. It did not seem to me at all that Sabine tapped into the Force, it seemed like she was completely unable to. What do you guys think?

As I watched it, I thought Sabine did accomplish a fairly weak force push or “slap” on Shin. Then Shin tells her she has no power for some intimidation. But it’s ambiguous, intentionally I suspect.

But where were the rest of her Vambrace weapons? Energy shield? Repulsor blast? Whip/rope launcher?

Either that or the coordinates somehow burned into Ahsoka’s hand. Though they would still have to create a ship capable of making the jump. Unless they just hitch rides on/ in purghills.

Personally I don’t think anyone is going to follow Sabine to the new galaxy. Thrawn will return to the GFFA, and so will Sabine and Ezra.

I think Shin thought she was about to be force pushed and reacted to it before she realised Sabine couldn’t do it.

Unless Ahsoka can somehow use her echo ability to sense the coordinates back at the temple-map thingy?

It’s ambiguous, but I also think Sabine didn’t accomplish any force push and Shin was just flinching. Otherwise it doesn’t quite fit for her to say “you have NO power.” “Your powers are weak” would have been more fitting, if that was the case.

I agree. There was nothing that amazed Shin who was prepared to be force pushed only to notice that she cannot do even that.

I loved the rockets, but i was also low-key hoping to see Sabine use the repulsors.

Of course, her live action gauntlets carry a regular whipcord rather than the glowing and "healing" one from Rebels, so she may have changed her entire "load-out" on them. Or maybe they just dropped the glowing whipcord because they didn't want people to think it was a laser one or something.
