Can I tell Amy Allen that her skank whore jedi doesn't fit the code and image of the jedi?

Seriously, though, I would actually like to attend this con.

It's cool that you post these and updates, Phuong.

I attended the Dallas Comic-Con this past October and these people put on an excellent, well-organized show with a relaxed friendly atmosphere. (No clawing and elbowing for Autographs and well managed lines) I would go to the upcoming Comics show but I was holding out for the July show instead and now with Phuong's post I'm more geeked up than ever about it. It would be cool to get together with people before the show and have an H-Town crew in effect...perhaps even have a FanForce chapter together before July?!?!? Thanks again for the heads up Phuong!

Houston here, that'll be awesome. My buddy and I could drive up there.
Let me know if you get more Houston folks going.

First, barring some unseen disaster (or change of plans out of our control), the husband and I are totally going to this.

Second, neither of us has ever been to a convention. So, as newbies, we have no idea how to plan, what to expect, and what to do (other than just show up and look around stupidly).

Thirdly, where is the best (cheap) place to stay in/around Plano for this?

If multiple people are interested in going to this, then I agree with WookieChuckles. We should get together on it.

Well, I have been to a few Cons in Plano and the cheapest place I found was the Red Roof Inn and it's the barest motel I have ever been in, and it's only a few minutes away from the convention center. I would suggest budgeting how much to spend because admission may be free but most actors charge about $20-$25 per autograph. Bring the cash because the ATM will be sucked dry. The dealer room will be filled with a bunch of toys that you can buy on the shelves if you hunt for it. The lines are usually not that bad and is usually very organized. Bring a camera because the actors are usually very nice and love meeting their fans. Oh, Ray Park is as handsome as he is nice. Hehe.

This is great! I attended Apple Comic Con in NY and got a picture with Ray Park and Daniel Logan. Had a nice little exchange with Daniel. Apparently he had partied the night before in his hotel room. He was a little flirt too. ;) I also got to see and talk to Hayden Christensen on that trip cause he was filming "Awake" in NY and my friend and I watched him film near 5th avenue. All in all, a mighty fine trip in NY that weekend.

I've only been to one convention (a little one in Houston a few years ago, 2004) and Peter Mayhew was there. He was cool and got to talk to him quite a bit (as there wasn't much activity there).

My girlfriend and I will be there, and hopefully a couple of our friends from Wichita, KS will make the trip down as well. Any one that frequents the Star Wars Action News website/forums will also be interested that several of the members there will be making the trek from across the country.

    That's a great poster.

I haven't been to a convention like this in years, but am considering going to this one. Lots of people showing up it could be quite a show.

Since it's free admission, how crowded do you think this will be?

Speedpass is available for purchase for $10 which will let you go ahead of the line of the general admission line. There will also be a special screening of Serenity at a local movie theater for $10.

I think we are going too. I'm debating whether or not to get the speedpass thing Phuong mentioned, I'm not typically one to get autographs.

Or at least, I never have before.

I just confirmed that I will be going. Is this thing worth staying Saturday night for? I'm going to stay Friday night and spend all day Saturday there. Should I stay for Sunday too? Thanks!

I haven't been to a convention in years and years so I can't answer your question.

Phuong, I think, goes to a few, I think I remember reading that. Hey Phuong, did you get the speedpass thing?
