Orlando, FL September Meeting

Hmmmm... instead of fanfilm movies- maybe we should make fanfilm commercials!!! Brandon you will be the George Lucas of commercials.

 

You know what, and this is completely true, FanFilm commercials actually, to me at least, sounds cool. That is something I can see being done, and see some humor in it; it is new, refreshing, and would mean there would not have to be some uber-script, each little commercial would be completely different.

I think that's a great idea. Just as videos are a great way to intensely put together a quick movie, a commercial sounds like a wise use of resources for strapped fans. And a well written one will stick in the memory but not leave time for the "cool-but-went-on-a-bit-long" aftertaste of so many fan-films.

Anybody remember the actual British commercial for breath mints set on the Death Star? Good stuff.

You do fully realize and appreciate the fact that we changed the date *this* time to make sure you could come, right? If I were you, I would either show up and be a man about it, or just write a message that says something like, "HeY guyZ, i wont bee goi'n to aNy meatiings at all! sorry!"

So, now that the very reason we changed the day has dropped out, is it still on for Sunday or would Saturday now be better? Once again: for me, Saturday would be nicer (not better, per se, but I'd like it more). Either way, I will say one thing about all of this: typical.

Hell I can almost make a short commercial on my own- I bet they would be real super easy- and I mean- how many people are doing them? Fanfilm commercials could become this groups niche!

On a side note- Brandon- you hit the nail on the head! You know it's getting to be kinda pissy how some individuals want the fanforce to cater to their needs- and to a point we should for the majority of people- but- for individuals- there is only so much that can be done- like Lincoln said-
'You can please some of the people all of the time and you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.'

Seriously, now that we know Anthony will never attend a meeting, I want to re-state my feelings on Saturday meetings. Here they are, re-stated: Saturday meetings are good.

Oh, and about the so-called p-whipping that has befallen me. I should not have to respond to such a remark, but I will.

First, I wish to thank little Anthony for sticking up for me. While his most recent post is upsetting, I must give credit where credit is deserved, and he deserves it there.

Now, not that anyone here cares, but I have some amazing friends, very close friends, and the following people have the ability to speak for me in my absence in regards to any matter: Jean-Paul, Stefanie, Mason, and Kevin. Now, out of those, Stefanie is the only person that posts here, so she can be my voice if she so wishes to be. Those are the only people that I trust completely.

Also, barring that, the reason she did type that was because she was sitting at my computer at the time, and I realized that while I had already responded to this thread, not once had I actually said I was coming to the meeting. So, she made a post and knocked two things out at once, that she was coming and that I was coming.

By reading all of the above, it will further appear that I have lost it and am p-whipped. It will be argued that if I was not whipped in such a way, I would see no reason to respond as I have.

I will leave it at that, but make one more special note: this is the longest post I have done since the last meeting. Oh, and I would ask everyone to remember, if someone *is* PWed, that is at least not the worst type of whipping one can endure.

I wouldn't be sure about that- cause sometimes dignity is all a man has sometimes... and to be pw'd is a assumption such a indignity has befallen a individual. Anywho... I will be there Sunday... is it at the same bat time, same bat place?

 

My dignity has been gone for years. If that is the measure of a man, well, I'm so far from it as to be some type of proto-man or something. Perhaps even Nietzsche's uber-man! Yes, I'm the uber-man made manifest!

Plus, come on now, would anyone here, anyone at all, really care what a user of a Star Wars forum thought of him or her?

The meeting is going to be amazing. I hope fighting rages amongst us all and we end up destroying the entire library.

Hm, okay, so a bunch of "geeks" might not be able to do much damage, but our verbal lashings of each other will be second to none!

Everyone, let's be honest: we should all come prepared with topics of dicussion, of course; however, we should also be prepared to insult everyone... or, at the very least, prepared to draw our names on the board with dumb looking lettering.

Not you, though, Anthony, you don't get to come.

Man this is gonna be the best meeting ever!!! I think the muckrakers will be the undoing of it all! Hey has anyone played the Jedi Academy demo yet? I can't wait for the game!!! Anyone get to see Enterprise? That show rocked! You almost get to see T'pol naked! Well I wanna propose a Jedi Monkey discussion headed up by Alanis Marmoset at this weekends meeting.

 

I thought the Jedi Academy demo was rather awful. Hearing my little Greedo alien speak English is funny, though.

As for Enterprise... still not a good show, but yes, seeing Ms. Vulcan all but nude was a nice touch. Though, come on, was I the only one that though the scene with the aliens around the table was almost a throw back to the Attack of the Clones scene with Dooku and his buddies?

And Federation marines or whatever they are... sigh, at least what's his name (Daniel Dae Kim, I think) is a part of them, and he, of course, was from the short lived Babylon 5 spin-off, Crusade.

Still, it's a vastly superior sci-fi show when compared to the final seasons of The Next Generation, and all of DS9 and Voyager. It's a shame, though, that Farscape was taken off and, especially, the finest show since Babylon 5 was on the air, Firefly.

Firefly is coming to DVD, too... everyone pick it up! Outstanding.

Anyway, so, yes, saw Enterprise and this meeting should be eventful depending upon who shows up.

Who IS showing up? You'll be there (you being James), I'll be there, Stefanie will be tagging along with me, Ia will be there, Campbell will be there... what about everyone else from last time? Yes, no, maybe so?

Yeah I will be there gellin like a felon. Yeah I was glad to see Daniel Dae Kim on the show too after he was the 2nd in command on the Excaliber. I thought those Marines kicked ass! Yeah that table scene did look a lot like the AOTC meeting. But that looked pretty cool. This is gonna be a very weird season- which almost makes it have that Farscape sense to it. I never saw Firefly because they moved it around so much I never go to see it. I hear they are making a Firefly movie now. I'll bring the ruckus to the meeting....
