Seriously, what's with all the Hot Topics?

They're like.... in every mall.

 

I don't even like most of their merchandise. What is their appeal?

 

I thought this was gonna be a thread about Tomas...

 

I bought my Star Wars belt there.

So The Gap / Old Navy / Banana Republic AND Hot Topic are all the same company?

 

I had to venture in there, scared because I was decked out in A&F, carrying a Prada bag, in order to find paraphernalia for my "80's rock groupie" outfit for work. I was shocked when everyone there didn't glare at me. They were really cool and gave me excellent personalized service. Yay Hot Topic!

 

Yes. It's ridiculous.

 

I've picked up a number of SW t-shirts there too.

Though I have to laugh that my daughter now bemoans most of the clientele when she was one herself only a few years ago.

 

They don't look at you weird for wearing normal clothes. It's a freakin' mall shop for crying out loud

Also, I've found sweet stuff the clearance bin, like Thundercats and "In touch with my inner pirate" shirts.

 

Or is it?

 

I buy all my Hello Kitty Punk Rock stuff there. And I bought my gryffendor tie there. And will probably buy my new messanger bag there. lol

PRENN is wrong, Hot Topic is not owned by the Gap/Banana Republic/Old Navy group. Hot Topic is its own company.

 

I used to work at Gap. I got a discount at Banana Republic, Old Navy, and of course Gap, but not Hot Topic.


Issue dealt with.

 

Hardly the first time a mod was wrong, and hardly the last.

 

I thought this thread was going to be about Hot Topic threads being found in stores

I've found some pretty cool stuff in there too. Its not all that bad

Oh no, I'm fine with the Internet. Hot Topic just sort of freaks me out. I think it may be because there were a bunch of people/workers who looked like they wanted to hurt me or something when I went in one, one time.

 

We always called it "Goth in a Box".

But they sometimes have cool t-shirts and toys. And it's where I get all my stripey tights.

 

They're like...good stores.
