Sex Education

I went to high school at a private Christian school. We didn't have a "sex-ed" class but we had a health class. We learned about the reproductive system. Now, being the kind of school it was, obviously they promoted abstinence until marriage. We did learn about various methods of contraception, and the various health risks of them (failure rates, stuff like that).

Now, I had my sex education previously, like 4th grade, at home. My mom was gonna have surgery to have her "tubes tied" and so she explained how everything worked. Then in 6th grade, I was going to school at a DODDS school in Okinawa Japan. We had one day where the boys and girls were split up, and there was a video to watch, and some people handed out deoderant (to the boys anyway) and answered any questions. It was more of a "here's what's happening to your changing body" type thing.

What were your experiences?

 

A bunch of rural kids laughing at the following:

penis
mammories
vagina
erection
stimulation

and my teacher uttering a gutteral "arggh" after saying semen.

I took sex ed. but that was like way after, I learned from the older kids, who learned from the older kids.

Then when I was 17 and had my first sexual experience I found out there a whole bunch of ******* liars. You never truely learn untill you do it.

 

what if you learn from experience?

most of my Seattle public school sex-ed classes seemed to be about as informative on the subject as a blind nun.

whatever. I learned from my mistakes, luckily nothing too bad thus far.

 

I don't know, but I've never seemed to have any trouble with any aspect of it. Sex wasn't really trial and error for me.

 

It wasn't for me neither, It was more a try this, like this better, try this like this better untill you have mastered it.

I remember studying two butterflies mating that I found in our garden when I was about 5.

I've been fascinated by both topics ever since:

Sexuality and wildlife, including humans.

 

I'm not sure I'd like having sex with a butterfly. I'm pretty sure it would not like having sex with me.

 

In elementary school we had the "Growing Up" program, which was kinda like sex ed for little kids. One day the teacher was talking about how boys grow facial hair during puberty. One kid in our class raised his hand and said, "There's a girl in my class that has a mustache. Does that mean she's going through puberty?"

Oh, the hilarity.

 

My parents did kind of a weird job. When I was 7, my dad set me down and with x-rays in hand, proceeded to scientifically show me where babies come from. My parents were conservative and stressed no sex before marriage, but always encouraged us to learn about everything. They'd answer many questions, except when it came to sex. Then things would get awkard. There would be a silence and then one of them would say "look it up in the dictionary." I was homeschooled for all of my teen years so there wasn't too much learning about this stuff in school.

I learned a great many things about sex from the dictionary, encyclopedia, and the internet. There's nothing like actual experience, but I sure learned a lot beforehand. Real scientific stuff too. Not that schoolyard gossip stuff.

 

Sex ed was nothing really knew to me, somehow I worked it out by the time I was 11 and the funny thing is that no one ever told me, I just worked it out.

But I went to an all-girls school, imagine talking about the male genitalia and the teacher using the pronoun "you"

 

I gave an oral presentation on sex when I was 11.
Got an A.

I used a transparency projector too.
Right after the presentation, I destroyed the transparencies.
Some kid went home whining to her parents, who then complained to my school.

I had to spend some time with my dear Principal.
The perve even asked me if I still had the transparencies.

 

I discovered masturbation - though I don't think that was the best way to go.......

From there, I kind of just gathered subtle hints from my parents and other kids. By the time I actually had a true sex ed. class, nothing was new.

My school didn't even talk about masturbation. The only input I got in middle school about that was from my theology book, which said that masturbation was for people who are "immature or lonely". I got a puberty talk. I learned about condoms and sex from my friends.

GOOOOOO Catholic School!

 

So, did the transparencies serve the same purpose as a paper cup, except that it allowed the whole class to see what "went in the cup?" I bet some JCers should've seen that oral sex. presentation. on sex. orally.

That doesn't fit me at all.

 

I got an 8th and 9th grade health class where we were taught anatomy and learned about STD. The gist of it was sex=evil. I had to learn about it from a sex book that I found in my basement.

 

Masturbation sure isn't lonely when you do it with a group of friends.
