    Ahhh Mysterious Cities of Go-ooo-oooo-oooooooooo-ld!

Yes, I remember it well. There was some discussion about it on a thread somewhere about 2 months ago. They don't make cartoons like they used to. The 80's was a golden time of animation. You had classics such as Transformers, He-Man, ThunderCats, Ulysses, Jason and the Wheeled Warriors and many many others.

There hasn't been anything to rival them for years. But with the Clone Wars and Samurai Jack, I feel we are entering a new age of story driven animation. Animation that doesn't have to be annoying Japanese crap!

Ramble_Bobba: Never underestimate how desperate these stage school brats are to get on TV. Work in the summer?? PAH!

They would kill they're own mother if it ment a walk on part in Corrie.

EDIT: You still have one day left till you become a Master, Mixo.

Yes the 80s and 70s were golden years. Cool McCool ruled the air waves.

    The day is over :D

Cool McCool? Can't say i've heard of that one? Is it some sort of Aussie TV prog?

I remember a Mr Cool from the Happy Days cartoon series, but he was American if my memory serves me right.

OK, i'll address you as Master, but you have to address me as...... Uhmm.

    GOD!

I've never heard of McCool, though I have heard of Inch High Private Eye. Though strangely I don't think i've ever seen it.

There was this Aussie programme I watched when I was younger, it was a live action serial about a Steam Train. It was called When Monday Comes (I think??).

It was about how this evil developer wanted to use diesel powererd trucks to transport goods and not the Steam Train. THE FIEND!

A bunch of kids got involved, cleaned the train up and convinced the old driver to take it back on the tracks. I know it sounds rubbish now, but I remember really enjoying it at the time.

Secret valley??? Its doesn't ring any bells, but what was it about?

I remember Heartbreak High, that was really good.

Shame they finished it. Problems with the actors demanding more money if memory serves me right.

'twas an Aussie show on channel 4. All I remember was this cocky kid who was forced to take some vitamins by his mum in one episode, so he stuffed socks in his t-shirt to make it look like he had biceps - strange what memories you retain...!

lol. You know I think that just stired some memories?? I may very well remember that, or I could just be filling in the blanks in my life with stuff I pretend to know. I do that sometimes.

I remember Round the Twist. That was out there. Very funny sometimes too.

Ahh Bananaman. If ever there was a superhero ripe for the big budget movie makeover, it is he!

Having said that, Superted has to be the best superhero movie never made. Seriously, imagine it. Look at how good the teddybear in AI looked, give that character an action slant and you would have a marketing mans dream!

They would make twice as much as Star Wars on merchandise alone.

It has all the classic ingredients of a classic superhero.

Thrown out like a piece of rubbish - The classic "outsider" superhero complex.
A spotted man from outerspace - Opens up a whole universe of possibilities and adventures.
Until mother nature gave him special powers - Adding a mythical and quisi-religious slant to it would make it appealing to middle America. The biggest market in the world.

I'm going to enquire about the rights to this.... ;)

Can you imagine what a company like Pixar could do with this movie!

The new Batman is cool. I don't know if it's on Sat TV.

But nothing like the old days. Although I watched Bravo or UKTV or something the other day and the "live" action programmes don't hold up well.

The A-Team (how in god's name did they run a campaign to ban that on the grounds it was too violent?) no one ever gets shot. All cars flip over as if they've gone up a ramp. If dynamite is thrown at you. Both you and your buddy will soon be diving over a small wall or a bundle of hay.

Knight Rider. The Hass. Simply a legend. Kitt has a dashboard from 80's electronica hell. While the speedometer in the car shows 70mph external shots (IE the background) reveal Kitt is flying along at about 20mph.

Airwolf. Did anything make a cooler noise than that thing?? I'd still buy one of those Bell helicopters and kit it out like Airwolf. Shame Stringfellow Hawk went onto become a B-list soft porn star.

    Blue-Thunder. The bloke from Jaws!

Duke's of Hazzard. Same field. Same chase.

The Fall Guy. Lee Major's. Some bloke who looked like Jimmy Smits but wasn't. Some chick who looked like Heather Locklear but wasn't. Carries the best title song line in the world "who makes Eastwood look so good"

Manimal - I'd forgotton about this until last weekend!

oh and Sherlock Holmes. With a brilliant mad-cap Jeremy Brett and lot's of cocaine taking.

Of course there were others...Muppet show, Muppet babies, Wackaday, Go-Bot's, Baywatch et al

    Hey,

My first post, I suppose the name kind of gives away the natural Welsh forum posting.

All very in-character this is, not that I have any idea how a forum-based Jedi Council works at all, but there we are.

As for me, I'm 17, from the south Wales area, (college student), and well, as you all probably know, Britain tends to suck on the pre-uni computer teachings, so I'm all self-taught. Mainly create/design professional websites and sell them off, erm, programming as well (php, MySQL, that kind of stuff). And image editing. Can't forget that. Graphics work, hmm, yes, Photoshop, Fireworks etc.
And of course not forgetting my latest hobby now of rotoscoping Star Wars lightsaber duels, and doing all the music and editing etc.

So, I'll just try and learn all the various extras this place offers than normal forums.
