Leia: "Hope." That face and that one word was all it took to bring a smile to my face and tears to my eyes.

I always find it funny when your watching a movie and people clap, but I guess its just the better reaction then screaming. :p

    - A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. Gets me every time.
    - Seeing Tarkin for the first time. I honestly do not even remember what he and Krennic were talking about during that scene because I was so in awe of the fact that it was Tarkin!
    - The last couple minutes just left me speechless.

Definitely at last night's screening. Only a little at the matinee I went to today.

    Most emotional moments:
1.) Jyn seeing the hologram of her dad (after reading Catalyst, this was impactful)
2.) Jyn reuniting with her dad (briefly)
3.) Vader making his first appearance (AHHH YEAAA!!!)
4.) Chirrut Imwe meeting his fate. "The Force is with me, and I am one with the Force." :_|
5.) Jyn and Cassian hugging just as they're about to meet their fate
    6.) Vader's saber-rage (AHHH YEAAA x3!!!)

Vader Intimidating as ****! Although you knew it was coming as soon as the lights went out I just wasn't expecting it to be so freaking terrifying. THAT is how he should have been seen in the prequels... That's what was missing. TERROR. I got emotional.

I cried when Bail Organa walked in in the first meeting. It's like "There it is! The prequels did happen - everything tied together" He even had that relationship with Mon, the familiarity between them was good to see. Not chemistry, but they certainly looked like they've been sitting in opposition together for a long time. I wasn't expecting that kind of reaction at all... It was awesome to see him involved.

I felt more connection to the core Rogue One crew than I did to most of the Jedi wiped out in order 66. Every PASSING moment was met with a breath before the inevitable. It was hard to describe.

Tarkin. Wonderment, Awe - Who the hell is this doppelgänger? I can't believe how awesome it is to see Tarkin on screen again! I was so happy!

    I got all emotional at
    "I have a bad feelin - "
    "Shhhhh!"
    "Be Quiet!"

Just enough to be make a nod but by cutting him off shows its just enough to be different.

Vader chasing the plans, the Tantive IV undocking and going into Hyperspace as that's the beginning of A New Hope.

K2's death got me, I enjoyed that character.

Vader at the end shocked me in a good way, so much power. A friends disliked the Leia scene but I loved it.

"General Syndulla" I was so excited watching it for the first time, I couldn't concentrate on great Cassian scene after it.

    K-2 calling Cassian just Cassian.

All the deaths but Baze reciting those words to his friend...

And of course I waited against the spoilers and everything for someone to save Cassian and Jyn.

Oh and Tarkin. That first scene with him!

Yes, that was indeed a powerful moment, seeing a tough-as-nails girl like Jyn finally breaking down... As our heroine's emotions at "seeing" her Dad after a very long time got to her!

And I forgot another memorable scene of Rogue One - that entire space battle itself, including the one where the small Rebel ship used its reserve power to push one helpless Star Destroyer (whose engines failed earlier) into the other, resulting in both crashing into the Scarif force field control base... First time seeing a huge space battle on the big screen, after a long time!

Me too. It needed an extra forty minutes or so of character building to have any emotional heft in my opinion. I felt nothing for any of them, literally did not care what happened to any of them. The only thhing that made me feel any sense of personal involvement was the mad dash to get the disk off the Mon Cal cruiser and onto the Tantive into Leia's hands. That scene built a real sense of urgency and sacrifice for the greater good.

I was surprised at how many truly emotional moments there were in this film and how subtly some of them were handled among the action scenes.
It's hard to pick those that hit me the most, but some of the top moments for me:
    - Jyn rescuing the child in the streets of Jedha.
    - All of Saw's scenes. I sort of expected him to be a Punisher-style extremist with questionable morals in the fight. What I got was that, but also someone that was just so heartachingly broken. "Have you come to kill me?"
    - Jyn seeing the hologram of Galen and breaking down.
    - Galen's last line to Jyn. It was not the typical dying line and it just got me.
    - The main deaths. While less subtle, I think they were handled well. Baze/Chirrut and Bodhi might have been the most emotional for me.

And an odd little moment that I found to be emotional that I haven't seen mentioned... Poor Tivik on the Rings of Kafrene. I love that actor, so that may be a part of it for me, but I just felt for the poor guy. He's doing the right thing despite being absolutely terrified (and injured).

Besides most of the big ones already mentioned. I felt for a lot of the rebel redshirts on Scarif.

There's one that sees his friend go down and looks over, there's a pause there. Both were hiding behind containers. Nothing said, but you feel pain in the look.

The other soldier when Bodhi starts his run to the ship, the look he has. He sees what's happening, sets his jaw slightly...stands up giving covering fire and gets hit.

Most of the X-wing pilots from Blue Squadron. The mad dash for the shield closes and not making it. Blue Leader going down.

Vader. The rush of the rebel soldiers trying to pass the disk along...holy hell... banging on the door while everyone ignores him...wow...Right in the feels...

God damn I love this movie.

    Most emotional moments... lord... everything!

Each death of a team member was quite emotional, the most being Cassian and Jyn on the beach. Embracing and waiting for the end together... damn. Also, Galen's death.

After seeing it only once, the one scene that is hanging in the forefront of my mind is Vader's last sequence. As soon as his lightsaber ignited and the mad dash of the soldiers to ensure the safety of the plans... you know the outcome as you watch it but I was on the edge of my seat. It was something else watching these men give their lives as they handed the disk down the line.

    Still processing here...

Leia's one word in this movie "Hope", kind of puts a new spin on what A New Hope really means. And yes, that line go me teared up

I have to say, there was no moment in the film that truly moved me on the same level that other moments in the saga have, but if there was one line that I thought was particularly resonant, it was during Galen's transmission to Jyn, when he says to her something to the effect of "I realize now that my life has been wasted."

If we're talking nerdgasms though, it has to be seeing Vader's castle. Holy moly I was not expecting that. Probably the hardest I've freaked out over something unexpected in a film.

For me it's when the guy screamed "Help us!!!" through the glass as Darth Vader was on his rampage. [face_nail_biting]
