The Millennium Falcon is a smuggling ship, not a combat ship. Its main asset is speed, not shields or firepower. When it runs into trouble, the main recourse is to run away...and the guns are only there as a last resort. When Han joined the Rebel Alliance, he used the Falcon mainly to transport important personnel and cargo around, and not so much for combat missions.
In canon Arndall Lott and Iolan Gendarr are members of Visler Korda's Imperial faction on Rekkana, with Lott being responsible for designing Korda's TIE/D Autofighters. Gendarr's command, the Star Destroyer Reliance, is a Venator-class (hence the Republic-style name). Sorry for the delay on this, because I totally missed the comment. I'd probably consider that an easter egg, since the my headcanon is using canon SW rather then Legends (though it's possible Kirk and co. found themselves transported back in time and into an alternate reality at some point). That being said, the Enterprise crew defiantly *did* end traveling back to the age of sail and end up fighting a sea monster somewhere near Scotland, which got passed down in local memory and painted on the wall of a military base (probably this sea monster, if we're being totally honest) Doesn't that discount all the times the ship is used in combat without any real issues? (not to mention the fact that Han specifically insists Lando uses it for his command ship to lead the fighter attack Endor?) Years of the EU burning it into me have definitely locked Shannon McRandle into my head for how Mara "should" look (and Heidi Shannon for how she "should" sound), but IMO Johansson definitely has the look better than most others out their (that Mara and Natasha dress similar and have *very* similar origin stories definitely makes it more believable). Recently I've started to think Elizabeth Olsen could make a good Mara as well (I don't think she nails the appearance as well as Johansson, but IMO she has the benefit of being a much better actress) But Gillen could pull it off as well, I think. Honestly I think a Karl Urban/Johansson, Olsen or Gillian Mysteries of the Sith miniseries or something would be pretty fun (obviously with a framing device that involves Jonathan Frakes as an old Kyle Katarn telling someone (Rey?) the story)
Frakes as Katarn? Oh boy... wow! As for headcanon casting... don't get me started. Black Widow as Mara works, but Elizabeth Olson I'd keep for another redhead, aka Tenel Ka's mommy Teneniel Djo. Or Kirana Ti?
"I bid you Dark Greetings." was a common way of saying "hello" amid the population of the ancient Sith Empires, and in both Legends and canon Sith cults like the Prophets of the Dark Side and the Acolytes of the Beyond tried to press for it to become commonplace within the Empire, only to meet with (very, very) little success (partly because Palpatine didn't want to advertise the Empire's Sithy-ness so openly and thus didn't put his support behind the effort). It was nevertheless a standard form of greeting amid the ranks of both groups as well as between members of both the Inquisitorius and the Emperor's Hands. The monolithic, tower-like Imperial Palace from Galactic Battlegrounds, EAW, TIE Fighter, Force Commander and the Dark Side ending of Dark Forces II is actually a converted LiMerge Building and is properly referred to as the "LiMerge Palace." It's conversion was overseen by Alva Brenne and was done in the ancient "Sith Gothic" style of architecture, which originated on Dromund Kaas during the Second Sith Empire. Now that you'd mention it I'd actually say Olson would work way better as Tenel herself, rather then her mother* (she's roughly the same age as Adam Driver, so assuming Tenel and Ben/Kylo are in the same age range - she'd be between three and five years younger if we go by Legends - she could work). That she uses magic as Scarlet Witch definitely helps with the visualization, but Olson is also at least broadly similar in appearance to Tenel (much moreso then Mara, who as I said Johansson nails the look far more accurately for IMO). As for Kirana, she's supposed to have brown hair, and is usually drawn with tanned skin. My own headcanon for her is Rachel Luttrell, who played Teyla Emmagan in Stargate Atlantis (I posted as much on my little list the other day, but apparently Teyla wasn't as lucky as everyone else when it comes to links) *Personally I like the idea of Rose Leslie as Teneniel; after all, she's already been a savage warrior from a desolate land who lays claim a man after capturing him (though, and I know I'm going to be dating myself her, but for some reason when I think of an *older* Teneniel - during her time as queen mother - my mind always goes to Athena from Xena: Warrior Princess)
When you post an image from Wookieepedia, you need to get rid of everything after the file extension or the picture doesn't actually show up. So not: Code: But instead: Code: Which results in and not as above.
Roganda Ismaren wasn't actually a concubine, that was just a cover for her role an one of the Emperor's Hands.
Another way I found to have the image appear is to replace the word "static" with "vignette" in the URL. That tends to work for me.
In the Legacy Comics the Imperial Knights remind me of a Cross of the french Musketeers and arthurian Knights of the Round Table. I headcanon them returning to blue armor under the GA triumvirate akin to earlier Senate Guards. Also i could See a Musketeers Style Story with a Younger inexperienced Felperor and as Nemesis a One Sith aligned Cardinal who got his own different colored troops. Heck one might even use the since FOTJ misguided Jedi as these "antagonists" and show how they and their Brothers in the Felpire lost touch. With Cardinal being a Skywalker Gesendet von meinem FP3 mit Tapatalk
New one: When the Galaxy fleet arrived at Exegol, it took the Sith Eternal forces completely by surprise that they lost more than ninety percent of their already-launched TIE Daggers and a descent third of the Xyston-class Star Destroyers in less than five minutes before Palpatine's lightning blast occurred. Even then, that lightning blast only disabled the Resistance/Galactic forces for just over a minute, damaging a number of ships including the Tantive IV, but the disabling didn't do enough damage and EVERY ship (including Tantive IV because Nien Nunb is awesome!) managed to return to the fight. Despite launching more TIE daggers and taking out some fighters and freighters, the battle against the Sith Eternal ended only twenty minutes later with the annihilation of the entire enemy fleet while the Galaxy fleet lost only a hundred ships, none of which were any larger than a 20-meter-long freighter. As to the Sith Temple, every MC85 Star Cruiser present along with the entire Mon Calamari fleet carpet bombed the structure to rubble as the rest of the fleet departed.
@Daneira @Kadar Ordo interesting! Thanks for letting me know (I always wondered why *some* imagines will quickly have their links failed (I'm assuming it's an issue with wikis in general?) Does'nt Roganda openly admit to being Palpatine's lover in Children of the Jedi? (I *feel* like she does, but it's been a long while since I read the book). Blue's an interesting idea for Imperial Knight armor coloring (I really like the red color with the black under-outfits, though, and my only wish is maybe if they wore a matching helmet*) *something similar to the Imperial Legion helmet from The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, but in red and with a Star Wars-style T-visor.
there were reports about the existence of a Bith Sith Lord but the Jedi believed it was an april fools tale
Inspired by the "Legends reading order between ANH & ESB" thread: There's just so much content between ANH & TESB, I consider the original Marvel run a separate Legends canon from the other comics, books, & video games during that period. I'm pretty sure she does.
Their exist several different ranks of commander, all of which are referred to in the shorthand as just "commander", explaining the discrepancies in authority held by officers with such ranks through SW. Fleet Commander - ranks above a captain and below a commodore (equivalent to a fleet captain). Jun Sato was a fleet commander, as was Lajaie. Marshal-Commander (also referred to as Field Commander) - the ground forces equivalent of a fleet commander. Ranks above a colonel and below a brigadier-general. Cody, Bly and Bacara are obviously of this rank, but so is Praji, D'Acy and all other clone officers referred to as commanders. Wing Commander - a starfighter forces rank equivalent to the rank of lieutenant-colonel and commander in the army/navy. Poe held this rank, as did Vanden Willard (before becoming generals and Poe, additionally, before being briefly demoted two steps to flight captain in TLJ) Commander - the standard "commander-style" rank, above a lieutenant-commander, below a captain and equivalent to the ground forces rank of lieutenant-colonel. Gherant is an example of this rank, as is Kanan. Lieutenant-Commander - ranks below a commander and above a lieutenant, equivalent to the ground forces rank of major. Meanwhile Jerjerrod being referred to as "commander" (despite being a moff and an admiral) was because he was the sector commander for the Moddell sector. The line in question, BTW, is from Vision of the Future and it's "Whatever. Personally, I'm not convinced it was actually him."
Come on, this sophisticated cutie pie needs some love: Here he even looks like Tom Hardy should play his younger self! And we all know we want young Palpatine in a movie: Heck, had the ST gone through with some rumored plans and casting choices, we'd have gotten in TROS rejuvenated Palpatine by Matt Smith: I am sure Roganda would approve! Aside that one could still headcanon that her son Irek is somehow of Palpatine descent, be it natural, a clone she carried to term or else. I mean old guy followed many paths to immortality... why not one more? Irek turning into Lord Nyax would be much more interesting them as he became Legend and a Nightmare tale for kids of Corellia gone real.
The conflicts seen in the three trilogies are the First, Second and Third Galactic Civil Wars, with only the Second one not planned by Palpatine in any way. The first and third both involve the secession of planets and systems prior to the outbreak of hostilities (as seen in the crawl for AOTC and the implied/explicit outcome of the Bloodline novel), and both involved Palpatine manipulating one or both sides.
As per TFU He also orchestrated the Second civil war as Starkiller founded the Rebellion to unite the Empires enemies to use them as a scapegoat threat before eliminating them all. It got complicated though after Starkiller turned good and the Sith lost control over their enemies Gesendet von meinem FP3 mit Tapatalk
Good point, but in terms of canon, the Rebellion vs the Empire wasn't one he started or manipulated like he did with the others.
You know my headcanon about Mon Mothma being secretly his daughter and servant? They are too alike in many ways. Heck what if Mara Jade was her daughter she sent to him for Training? Gesendet von meinem FP3 mit Tapatalk
Boba Fett has a voice modulator in his helmet that disguises his Concord Dawn accent, throwing people he doesn't want following him off his trail and keeping up the mystery of his true origins (such as sparking legends about him being an ex-stormtrooper or a former Journeyman Protector). Basically, it makes him sound like Jason Wingreen instead of Temuera Morrison.
I could also see him painting his armor to resemble the Protectors, further blending him in. When Boba reformed the Protectors they would all end up looking identical.
Politics/High Society/Gossip headcanon: Grand Moff Tarkin is, by far, the most popular senior Imperial leader among the chattering classes on Coruscant. Not so much the people with actual power, who see him either as a rival, a threat, or a pointy-haired boss. But Imperial senators, regime intellectuals and propagandists, the various aristocratic or business elites that have glommed onto the Empire - all the remoras? They can't get enough of him. Of course (they hasten to assure you) they'll always love Palpatine (some will quickly throw a nervous glance over their shoulders here). How can you not, after the old man held the galaxy together with his bare hands through four years of war, and of course your heart can't help but break at how horribly he suffered at the hands of the Jedi. But, well... there's no denying that since the event, he's never been the same. He's become reclusive, weird... almost mystical. Pestage and the other senior advisers, well, they're gray, dull, nerdy, weird little humans, not much to talk about there. And of course, Lord Vader just makes everyone uncomfortable. But Tarkin. He's got class. He's got charm. He's got charisma. He's got a nice uniform. He's a hero of the Clone Wars. He's got an imposing stature and a British accent. He's enough of a political animal to make a lot of upper crust types feel at home with him, and he's just stiff and no-nonsense enough that they don't think he's sucking up to them. He's a serious man. And he just looks so, well, normal compared to... certain people. They feel comfortable with him. He embodies everything they love about the Empire - military glamor, technocratic efficiency, a sense of authority and law and order - divorced from the more weird and mystical and creepy aspects of it. The galaxy can sleep soundly at night knowing that men like him are on watch. When the Emperor dies, they fervently hope he'll be the one to take over. Ironically, the same people who are head over heels in love with Grand Moff Tarkin felt exactly the same way about Count Dooku. Not that they necessarily agreed with the Separatists (if they did, they'll never say so now), but even if not, they respected him. He was worthy opponent. A man of principle. A gentleman. If only the rest of the Confederacy had been more like him, instead of those weird, grubby, disgusting aliens... well, who knows how many problems could have been avoided and how different history could have been.
There's definitely a certain type of law and order Imperial that would be turned off by Operations Cinder or Shadow Hand. These types would find a comfortable home in the Centrist faction later on.
