Chapter 1

Darth Caedus AKA Jacen Solo had never been as afraid as he was now. Standing on the bridge of his Star Destroyer The Anakin Solo he was listening to the report made by one of the soldiers that had been sent to investigate the strange disappearance of a squad of troopers in the lower parts of Coruscant.

The Sith Lord usually didn?t have anything to do with investigations like this. But this time he had been called personally by Niathal to help.

?Sir we might have to have you come down her personally? One of the investigating troopers said over the comm.

?Why is that?

?Well sir I?m no expert but I thing that the wounds on the men found down here are lightsaber made, but as I said I?m no expert and it would be easier if you could just come down here and confirm or deny it?

Caedus frowned. He had didn?t know why he felt this strong fear, but he had his suspicions.

?Are there any marks of boots or other means of travel? He asked over the comm.

?No sir, there is nothing abnormal with the street unless you count the bodies? Was the response.

Shrugging away his fear the man who had once been Jacen Solo turned his head slightly to the side.

?Ready a shuttle? he ordered the soldier that stood there.

?Yes sir?

?Right then trooper, be ready for my arrival within the hour? Caedus said into the comm.

?Yes sir?

Turning around he came face to face with Luke Skywalker. Stumbling backward the leader of the Galactic Alliance Guard closed his eyes and waited for what he assumed would be his last moment in the living plane.

Bit when no such strike came Caedus opened his eyes slowly. Luke was gone. Or had never been there more likely.

?Are you alright sir? one of the soldiers that were stationed on the bridge asked.

Putting a smile on his face Caedus shook himself and looked at the trooper that had spoken to him.

?I?m fine trooper? The Dark Lord of the Sith said.

?If you say so sir? the trooper said with a disbelieving voice

?I say so trooper? Caedus said slightly angry.

?Colonel Solo?

Turning to look at the person speaking to him Caedus saw the soldier that he had sent to ready a shuttle.

?Your shuttle is ready sir?

?I figured that by your arrival?

Leaving the two troopers on the bridge Caedus began walking toward the hangar. On the way there he began to ponder the three mysteries of the day.

First there was what the troopers on the surface was a Jedi attack on a squad of troopers.

Second there was the great fear he was feeling.

Third there was the appearance of Luke on the bridge.

The first mystery would wait but the second and third was nagging him. Maybe there was a connection. Maybe the force was warning him that if he went to Coruscant he would face Luke.

Mulling over several other theories he decided that the first one was most likely. If that was true then he could soon be rid of the annoying Grand Jedi Master.

Lost in his thoughts he didn?t realize that he had arrived before he stood before the doors that lead out to the hangar.

Pushing his thoughts into the back of his head he entered the hangar with his head raised highly.

?Colonel Solo? A man in his middle twenties said.

?Yes, and who are you if I may ask?

?I?m your pilot for the day? The man responded with a voice that betrayed no emotion.

?I?m perfectly able to fly the ship myself? Casting a look at the man uniform he continued ?Sergeant?.

?We are aware of that fact Colonel Solo but my superiors thought that it might be easier for you if someone else was pilot so that you could? I don?t know what my superiors thought you might need to do?

Looking at the man he thought about his options. He could accept the pilot and let people know that he trusted other people to do their job or he could pilot the ship himself and appear like an arrogant child.

?Alright then

 

Chapter 2

The street was empty and the only thing that could be heard was the wind. Standing there facing a nearly Dark Luke Darth Caedus almost shivered. The Grand Master?s eyes looked like an animals.

?How do you know that someone from the club won?t contact security? Caedus asked.

The First of the New Jedi Order sneered at him. His eyes seemed to go even yellowier and his hand was placed over the lightsaber that was placed on his belt.

?The people in the club were for Han?s safety? Luke said ?We didn?t know if you were going to come quietly or try to attack Han when he put that blaster against your back?

?Seemed as you have everything planed out?

?I do pride myself with being a smart person? Arrogance was high in Luke?s voice.

?What will stop Han and Ben from rushing to your side in the middle of the battle? Caedus wondered.

?This? Luke said and waived his hand. The door to the bar suddenly closed with a swoosh and Caedus heard the locks on it activate.

?Right then? Caedus said.

The two force masters stood there waiting for the other to do something. Then after a while Luke grasped his lightsaber and ignited the green blade. Caedus drew upon the force and readied himself for what would be the second time he fought Luke Skywalker in a three months.

?Not going to ignite you weapon Jacen? Luke said taunting him with the name he had abandoned.

?I don?t need to?

?Your arrogance is ever so amazing Jacen?

?My name is Darth Caedus uncle?

The street fell silent and once more the Jedi Grand Master and the Dark Lord of the Sith waited. And once more Luke made the first move. Raising his lightsaber high he leapt forward pointing the energy weapon right at Caedus heart.

When the green blade was centimeters from cutting into his skin Caedus pushed with the force. Luke was sent sprawling on the hard metal ground. Raising his hand Caedus drew upon the dark side of the force and form his finger tips blasted blue lightning.

But Luke was to fast for Caedus lightning to hit and was able to put his lightsaber in the way. The dark side energies blasted into the blade and with his free hand sent a force push that made Caedus stumble backward and gave Luke the time to get to his feet.

Once more the Jedi leapt and this time the Sith was forced to ignite his own blade and parry. Red and green met and from the collision a shower of sparks flew from the place where the Lightsabers met. The two fighters pushed against each other and neither of the moved their feet.

Then Caedus let himself slowly fall backward and the surprised Luke fell forward. Caedus deactivated his lightsaber in what turned out to be a flip and placed his hand against the cold ground and lastly he drew back his foot and kicked his opponent right in the jaw.

Stumbling backward the Jedi Master drew upon the force to keep himself from not falling and then he sent out a powerful force ball that was meant to explode upon impact toward his nephew, who in turn responded with another burst of force lightning. The two force attacks met and exploded like a bomb. Energy ripped across the warriors that stood there. It burned into their skins and pain rattled both of them.

But pain was nothing for the two most powerful men in the galaxy and they continued like nothing had happened. Luke moved with lightning speed across the distance that separated him from Caedus but when had arrived and slashed his lightsaber where Caedus head should have been he realized that the Sith Lord had mad a backwards flip and was now leaping towards him his lightsaber ready to thrust into the Jedi?s heart.

Using the force Luke pushed himself out of the way. But he wasn?t quick enough and the red energy blade grazed his side. But it was a small wound that he easily ignored. Sending a volley of small force pushes Luke spun around so that he looked at Caedus who was stumbling backward. Drawing his lightsaber backward he readied himself for the thrust that would kill the man who killed his wife.

But this didn?t happen

Chapter 3

Sometimes Darth Caedus wondered why his spirit was affected by things like bright light when he flow walked, after all he had no body to feel the effect with. This was one of those times. The light in the underworld of Coruscant had been weak and the light he saw now was bright. But even with his blurry sight he recognized the light of a lightsaber coming toward him.

Even if he knew that the energy sword wouldn?t hurt him he reacted on instinct and raised the lightsaber that he held in his hands in a parry. The two blades met with a shower of sparks.

That wasn?t right. No physical thing was supposed to be able to interact with him in this state.

His vision was getting better and Caedus saw a forest behind his attacker. Reaching out with the force he felt Luke and Jaina close and with them stood Lowbacca. Focusing on his attacker his hate raged when he recognized her as Tenel Ka.

But wait a moment. He had been here before. More than twenty years ago he had been in this exact spot. But how was this possible. His Sith Epiphany had told him how to draw out power from the Skywalkers and use it to piece together his body not how to move in time.

But that question would have to wait because Tenel was thrusting forward with her lightsaber again. Now his sight had returned fully and he could see the sunny landscape of Yavin 4.

With Tenel about to strike against him Caedus tried to remember if Luke had given them any restriction before starting the practice duel. Deciding that he hadn?t Caedus launched a force push toward Tenel who staggered backward. Even if he didn?t remember details of the duel Caedus clearly remembered the outcome.

When the heir to the Harpan throne had regained her balance she watched him for a couple of seconds.

?Are you not going to attack friend Jacen??

Even though he had only spent a moment in this time he had heard that name. Jacen Solo was dead.

?No?

His voice was filled with arrogance and the warrior princes took this as a sight of weakness. Leaping with her lightsaber raised high she probably thought that Caedus or as she knew him Jacen?s arrogance had gotten the batter of him.

But the Sith Lord simply drew his hand back and thrust it forward into Tenel?s stomach who gasped in pain. Using the force to push her to the ground Caedus swung his saber and stopped just before it was about to cut into Tenel?s skin.

The shock that shone in her eyes was unbelievably satisfying and with a startle Caedus realized that he had acted foolishly. Using his abilities in this time was reckless and stupid. While he certainly didn?t have to use his full power, quite the contrary it was as simple as walking he knew that Jacen Solo in this time didn?t have skills like this and he would now have Luke Skyalker?s eyes upon him.

But why was he thinking like he was going to stay here a long time? After getting away from these people he would use Flow Walk and try to send his spirit back to his own time.

No he was not going to try. He was going to do. Do or do not there is no try. Probably the only Jedi teaching that was still useful for The Dark Lord of the Sith.

Hearing clapping and footsteps Caedus turned around and came face to face with Jacen Solo?s sister. Her eyes were fixed on his and she had a dumb look on her face.

?Quick match? Was the first thing she said ?Nice battle?.

With an arrogant smirk on his face Caedus turned of his saber and swung around a little bit and began walking towards Luke. The Jedi Master was unreadable in the face but his eyes showed surprise.

?Good work friend Jacen? Caedus heard Tenel say behind him and with a small probe towards her mind Caedus felt the emotions that swirled there. Anger, self-disappointment, surprise and a little feeling of the fact that ?Jacen? had hidden his battle skill.

?Not very demanding? Caedus responded. If he was going to leave this time what did he gain by being nice? Nothing.

Luke had walked over to Caedus and the Dark Lord felt the power that surged in the man who had in
