My grandmother would probably tell me to date her. Lol. She tells me to date anyone with a vaguely Eastern European background.

she’s definitely the character who’s original to the show that I am most looking forward to learning about

 

Kinda funny that she has one while Ezra never had.

 

Kanan and Ezra were never really that formal. Baylan actually being a Knight or Master may still be set in his ways about it.

 

I was positively surprised how Shin appeared in the show. She was fine. For some reason I get strong negative first impression of her from trailers but in the show there was nothing to complain. She was mysterious like Maul in TPM many ways.

 

Loved the homage to this scene from TPM...

 

It was the most epic and beautiful moment in two-episode premier

 

I’m really digging this character. Can’t wait to see more.

 

My fear is we won’t actually get much background on either Shin or Skoll before this show in the show itself. For instance take the Grand Inquistor, in rebels itself we basically know nothing about him other than him being a former Jedi knight and temple guard. That’s everything rebels itself provides.

Good to know. Although I think the most intriguing part of this is why they hold onto Jedi values at all.

 

I assume that’ll be part and parcel of those scenes.

She certainly has an intensity about her.

The parallels between her and Darth Maul are apparent (especially with the Lothal scene). I hope those parallels won't include getting sliced in half, thrown down a long chute, etc. etc. GL realized his mistake in "killing off" Darth Maul too early. Hopefully, Filoni will have learned from that and make sure to keep this interesting character very much in action.

 

She's too pretty to go out like Maul.
Let's keep her around for a little while. I liked her action, her stances, her lines, mannerisms, look forward to seeing her fly her ship.

 

We shouldn't judge anyone by their looks. Beautiful can be evil and ugly can be good... but yeah I wouldn't want to see her character wasted either. She could be redeemed or grow to full bad guy potential.

I am sorry I criticized her harshly when trailers came out. For some reason there was this weird fan film vibe in the way her scenes looked and were edited there.

But I said back then I save my judgment for later and I did. And now I didn't get those vibes from her at all. Curious. I think that one shot of ship's acting captain ( that New Republic female officer) being killed still looks a bit weird though- Background seems unusually fake for some reason.

I think there were a bit fan film like elements in this show more than usual in SW live action with perhaps Mandalorian at times having the same energy. Not sure why exactly. Filoni's projects at times feel like fan fiction though. He uses a lot of same elements and seems at times too attached to his own characters making twists that are not always the best possible for the sake of the story.

 

I think Shin Hati will turn on Baylan in the end; she seems very hesitant thus far although she’s follows her Master’s commands. The fact she has braids make me think Baylan is a zealot and very strict.

 

Baylan says they're no Jedi yet Shin has the Jedi braid of a padawan. Baylan still trains her in the ways of the Jedi it would appear, will some of that be her undoing or the opposite?

 

I think Shon is gonna stick around. Skoll obviously won’t now, but I also don’t know if he was a one season thing anyway

 

If Shin ever gets an apprentice she'll have a Shin guard. I'll be here all week.

 

Hopefully not Shin zon.

 

I always wanted a red-saber wielding blondie that looks like Shin. Mostly Darth Zannah live-action. While no Sith, Shin is pretty damn cool. She’s intense. Good fighter. And definitely saw the Maul parallels.

Filonious, I swear if you “redeem” Shin, I’m done lol.

I like how intense and unhinged she comes at times. It’s a nice contrast to Baylan’s more reserved and stoic vibes. The actress conveys a lot with just her eyes and facial expressions.

I hope we get more about her past and how Baylan found her?

 

Now that was a very Shiny joke
