Ahsoka Shin Hati

It's interesting to see the Old Republic era parallels that people have made in this thread. With the World Between Worlds clearly in play, it's not out of the question that Shin and Baylan are actually from that era.

Not that I'm really happy about having time travel in my Star Wars, but anyways.

Anyways she looks cool and so does the orange saber. Keen for some sick lightsaber duels in this show.

There’s no good reason to introduce time travel if you can just make shows and films set in those other periods - and/ or just use flashbacks. I really can’t see a storytelling benefit to it. Especially when compared to the negative worldbuilding consequences that would flow from it.

The only advantage to “time travel” in Star Wars is to juxtapose how things have changed. Jedi Survivor already seems to be doing that even though it’s more of a time capsule angle, not actually time travel. Same with Momin in the Vader comics, and the Fermata Cage.

I’m getting most of my Celebration coverage via IGN, they haven’t really mentioned these characters at all, but a lot of people are calling them “Dark Jedi” were they actually referred to as such at Celebration?

It could be as simple as he was a Jedi survivor of Order 66 who fled to the Unknown Regions to survive, and the hardships of having to survive away from the comforts of the Core Worlds has caused him to turn to the Dark Side.

Or one of the Lost 20 prior to Dooku ran off and founded their own lineage of “Jedi” that were later discovered by Thrawn.

No. People infer that based on the fact that Shin has a Padawan braid. Dark Jedi is a stupid term, but people use the term "Jedi" for anyone who isn't an outright Sith, basically.

 

Exactly, its why I settled on calling Shin Hati a Force Usee since the teaser does not indicate for sure she and Baylan are Dark Jedi. I even said they could be a Jedi Insurrectionist Sect.

It’s just a way of describing them similar to Dark Jedi. A Jedi who has fallen to the dark side and is not a sith.

 

I am not sold on they are dark Jedi yet. I get Imperial Knights vibes.

 

Let’s call them “Jedown” then. Because they, like, fell down.

 

Fun fact, Dark Jedi was originally the title of Sith till GL came up with Sith.

In Legends, it was the Dark Jedi called The Legions of Lettow who conquered The Sith race (red skinned warriors strong with the dark side) and became their lords, hence Dark Lords of the Sith.

 

I agree there's no good reason, however that doesn't mean it won't happen. There have been plenty of storytelling decisions in Star Wars that I think were poor.
