Ahsoka Shin Hati

Shin and the Other Dark Jedi could be Clones but i dont think they are Clones i dont think they are Inquisitors maybe they are just on their own

 

Yeah, not clones. I suspect Shin and Skoll are former Jedi like Ahsoka turned.

For some reason Shin Hati doesn't look or feel like real star wars character to me. I have no idea what is the reason, but she feels like cosplay or fanfilm actor in clips released so far. Never had same reaction to a character before. So not sure if it's performance, makeup, costume design or what. So weird....
Hopefully that effect is not present in the actual show. But that is the weird vibe I got from her.
It's not about her gender though, new actor for Sabine is great, Dawson's Ahsoka is still great, I never got this fan film vibe from Reva Sevander either, but Shin Hati seems like somehow "fake character" to me. And I don't know why exactly. Weird...
I hope it's just some weird association I get rid of eventually. But I wonder if it's just me.

Maybe it's the wig looking hair and strong makeup combo that brings the fakeness to disturbing levels here.

Yeah she looks like Darth Zannah cosplayer to me. I think Lana Beniko is also visual inspiration, and I love that character from TOR, but Shin Hati doesn't seem too promising for now and feels like a cosplayer to me in material released so far. Well maybe she is better when Ahsoka actually comes out. That is just my honest first reaction. I was stunned by how quickly trailer started to feel like fan film wheh she was around.

Her being both nightsister and dark jedi is interesting though so who knows maybe her character works, but so far the looks haven't worked for me. She just looks fake. I think Inquisitors, especially grand inq in Obi-Wan looked quite bad too.
I haven't read EU stuff about Zannah, but I like Lana Beniko and Merrin in Jedi Fallen Order. Asajj Ventress was also great character in TCW. So I have no issue with female characters or female bad guys in general. Shin just doesn't look or feel right to me somehow.

 

Well I feel opposite, I especially love her scenes in the cockpit attacking like Kylo Ren and Anakin Skywalker (ROTS)



And the scenes of her dueling.. well I cannot say.

Same. She has the attitude and spirit that is opposite of Rey. I kinda wish they would meet in the new Rey movie.

Agree, there is a chance that she will be a quite energetic and proactive villain.

 

I wish I could discuss the extended trailer. Because.. well.. it reveals more about Shin.

Anyway, I couldn’t disagree more. She and Baylon are immediately two of the most intriguing villains to me. They look both original and totally Star Wars. And, I don’t know why, somehow more believable than a lot of the recent villains we’ve gotten. They’ve got a strange power over me.

 

They are the chief reason I am going to watch Ahsoka.

Ok nice that you like it then, I can tell better when I see the series. This was my honest first impression, but I save my judgment later. Who knows maybe she is great in actual show. Just not intrigued so far.

 

@Swashbucklingjedi Well the truth is no one has to like a character. In fact, it is part of the fun of being a fan, meeting those in same tribe of fandom of a character.
You cannot have that unless others dislike the character.

 

It's curious, considering how little we've seen/know from them, but I also find this two characters absolutely intriguing and appealing. And actually, I'm glad that we don´t get in Baylan Skoll a Joruus C´Baoth in all but name, but a new character entirely. C´Baoth is a favorite of mine, and I would rather have him either back in canon, or not at all, but not reimagined in form of Skoll, Snoke, or some other darksider.

Skoll and Shin Hati, with their amazing orange lightsabers and cult-like looks, have a feeling of both classic and new; even if they don´t end up doing it, I feel we could get surprised in a variety of ways by their motivations, philosophies and even abilities. That alone makes them quite exciting to me at this point.

 

Oh Disney please release the Extended Trailer so I can talk about that duel.

 

Hmm so if Shin is nightsister I wonder how that would work with Merrin being pretty much the last nightsister in Jedi Fallen Order and Jedi survivor. Are there some other group of dathomiri we haven't heard of or something. Could she even be Merrin's daughter? I dunno, haven't played Jedi survivor, but if she would be daughter of Cal and Merrin that could be cool I guess
Shin doesn't look like dathomiri hybrid at least while is is quite pale, no tattoos either, so has she just adopted dathomiri religion/lifestyle for some reason and can she also use magicks too or just the Force in traditional way?

Cal does have the first canon orange lightsaber. Maybe Shin’s saber is Cal’s, like Luke using Anakin’s.

 

Relativistic time travel would work, to bring someone from the Old Republic era to the post-OT era. Relativistic time travel isn't really "time travel" per se, rather it's making time pass at a dramatically accelerated rate for a person, relative to the rest of the universe. And it only works for travelling forward - time's arrow still holds absolute power. There's no reversing the flow of time, there's no going back with it.

 

I think some time travel might happen in some form, but I hope they keep it to minimum or timeline is really messed up. Ahsoka did after all timejump in Rebels with Ezra's help so there probably is continuation for that world between the worlds thing.

 

I really do not see a reason for time travel, what would be the purpose? This takes place post ROTJ, and Thrawn is alive. There isn’t a reap reason to use time travel because the plot is clear cut: stop Thrawn, stop resurgent empire. We know ot will ultimately fail, a la First Order.
