Okay, I should say it looks like the fake Hollywood snow they often use. In fact that is probably what it is. They probably threw a bunch of plastic snow in the water to make it foamy.

    It's not just seafoam?

Holy Cow, I'm gone just a few freaking days and everyone gets delusions of grandeur! And it IS dark in here! Does this mean no kitties allowed?

(Ultimate Fanfic Mod Powah is seriously overrated. Believe me. Been there. Done that. :D )

Getting rid of everything you own either takes time, or no time at all. Just depends on how attached you are to things. (I'm having a strange couple of days :p).

The picture looks a lot like the one linked to from the thread on here, that I blundered into, a few months ago.

Actually, I think it was a single TFN member and new spouse, world tour, and made assumptions that religion would keep them safe in Afghanistan.

I basically caught up with several years of the situation, just by reading 10-20 pages of the thread.

    I...hope you're not doing that. :(

    ...

First proper bike ride in ages. 30 kilometres by the river, around the island and back home. Almost killed a snake, managed to hit the brakes on time. I don't feel my legs right now.

Good morning, all! I'm reading a fascinating sf thriller called 'The Punch Escrow' by Tal M. Klein. It's all about the teleportation and the replicators/advanced 3D printers.

I had my first day at a new job today, and the first "real" job since 2011. It's seasonal, but it's still a job. I am going to have to get used to standing for long periods of time again... Ow my feet...

Party City. For those outside the US, they're a large chain of stores that sells party supplies and they sell a large number of costumes during the Halloween season.

Their Halloween section is so much fun to walk through!!! If I had money & storage space, I would have the most awesome haunted house. And the costumes are lots of fun to look at, too. Gel insoles, whiskers!

It's going to be better on my next shift, as I learned that my real comfy tennis shoes are okay. And there are a LOT of cool costumes there.

Glad to read that you're working, whiskers. :)

I'm still waiting for the potential employer to call me. The training starts this Monday or next Monday and I'm nervous, nervous, nervous.

How did you go about getting a job after six years, whiskers (sorry for asking such a weird question)? I'm in a similar situation, and could only get sort of hired at Macy's for Christmas a couple weeks ago. It wasn't a definite hiring, so I never bothered showing up for orientation. I've tried applying everywhere for a Christmas job doing stock or backroom, and can't get a peep from anyone. How did this work out for you?

    Thank you, whiskers.

I never had a full-time job. So, next to the stress of waiting to be accepted and going through tests, there will be the stress of getting used to it.

EDIT: The rejection e-mail was in my Gmail inbox. Kriff this life. :( :( Why am I even alive?
