. I think my son is paying that amount for a room in a shared house. I went down to Texas to see my soldier son. We traveled to Houston and Galveston Tx for a visit. We did the iFLY indoor skydiving. That is where I am put in a windtunnel and float around like a skydiver. That was fun. I have parachuted before, but only static line jumps in the Army. No free fall. My son had done Tandem Jumps hooked to an experienced skydiver in the past. So it wasn't a scary experience to us, but it was fun. It is not like floating around in space. It is more like putting your head out the window while going 100 mph down the highway. It takes a lot of wind to float a grown adult up off the ground. lol!

 

I was very sick this weekend, so went to the hospital and now know it’s ovarian cancer. I’m in the hospital this weekend for so many tests.

 

Cancer is so horrible. We're all pulling for you.

DarthIshtar passed into the Force May 3, 2025. She was surrounded by loved ones.
@RK_Striker_JK_5 I hope you find peace and comfort. I know you were close.
To everyone else who gave well wishes - thank you. Ish had such a large online family that she loved.

 

I'm so very sorry for your loss, @kateydidnt, but thank you so much for letting us know Ish has been such a big part of this forum for so long; it's hard to imagine the place without her. My condolences to her family and closest friends

"On this May the 4th, we want to take you back to 1981, when NPR turned its attention to Star Wars. That's right: Some of you may have forgotten (and some might not even know) that the network created three radio dramas based on George Lucas' original three movies.

NPR figured it could maybe get more listeners by reviving the radio drama, which had been out of fashion for some 30 years. So the network called Richard Toscan, then-head of the theater program at the University of Southern California. He remembers asking a colleague for advice on what story to dramatize: "There's this long pause, and he says, 'Create a scandal.' "

Toscan was at a loss. Then he mentioned the problem to a student. "And he said, 'Oh, why don't you do Star Wars?' " Toscan recalls. "There was the scandal.""
