So with the 30th anniversary coming up, and with it being the focus of Celebration V, I guess a lot of people are looking into making ESB themed costumes. I would love it if people could post some ideas for costumes that don't need months of embroidery (Leia's Bespin gown)or a lot of armor (Vader or Fett). Maybe it's time to take a look at all those extras on Bespin.

So any ideas from all of you talented people out there?

Go Bespin Guard, or Lobot.... I've yet to see anyone pull those costumes off!

I saw a cool Lobot at CIV. Guy looked totally legit. I was wondering about the weight of the headpeice, and how he had it attached. I guess Bespin is the only category you would find simplistic costumes. I will say that the Snow Trooper maybe a good middle of the road costume. Outside of painting miminal amounts of armor componentry, everything else is soft and doesn't require any fancy sewing work. Of course, heat maybe a factor at Orlando. Though I have worn my snow commander costume in Atlanta heat for DCon and it wasn't as bad I was expecting it to be.

I am definitely taking my Mandalorian armor with me to CV. I might take my CorSec agent, as well. Of course, it really isn't the right shade of brown. But since I put forth the work, I might as well show it off, right?

There is another odd-ball costume that I am really wanting to jump into. It would be very different and unique and if I pull it off right, I think I would be the only one to do this costume.

But, I am not really wanting to put all my eggs in one basket just yet. Still looking into how I am going to pull it off! So, I am not going to mention any more about it until I KNOW I can pull it off.

Snowtroopers are a relatively easy costume, just expensive --and HOT! I have worn mine at 10 degrees, and been just fine. I doubt I'd wear it in Orlando, no matter how chilly the A/C is. Once you put several thousand people in any room, air conditioning has a tough time keeping up.

X-Wing pilots are also relatively easy, but no one has yet made a good snowspeeder jacket.

And I'm finding that the Hoth Trench Trooepr is definitely NOT easy.

Sadly, that leaves the TK as one of the easiest ones.

If you can sew, then the Hoth Tech isn't too bad... theoretically.

Ironically, we actually have an excellent snowspeeder pilot in southern California. Why someone all the way down here thought to make the costume, I have no idea, but it looks awesome.

ESB does seem to go for the more complex costumes in general, though. In a pinch, senatorial Leias could change their hairstyle and say it's Leia's costume from the end of ESB... I'm pretty sure it's the same dress.

Snowman bought his costume on ebay before CIV to wear when he went, Lisa. He didn't even know about the Rebel Legion till someone snagged him and dragged him over to our Fan table. :p

That makes a little more sense, though I'm still wondering why anyone down here would seek out a snowspeeder pilot costume. :p Then again, I'm a crazy northerner, so I guess I'm not the one to ask.

Yes but Rob started with X-Wing, Lori. He made his Hoth AFTER he was already in the club.

And I still say a very simple awesome ESB costume is ICE CREAM MAKER GUY.

That is cool --good on him for doing the SS jacket. I wonder if he wants to make more? There has been plenty of discussion at the RL about them... I just haven't seen anyone do it.

I'm halfway considering buying a flight jacket and modding it...

I beg to differ, Rachel.o_O I had asked him who had made his Snowspeeder Pilot costume and he told me, "I don't know, I bought it off ebay so I could have a costume to wear at CIV".

He was not an RL Member at that time, he didn't even know what it was.

All he had to do, later, for X-Wing pilot was to get some black gauntlets and boots.
