    Another great episode,

I like how KB in particular is coming out of her shell a lot more (thought she has been quite underrated so far, and was the most interesting to me in the first two episodes, she's clearly empathetic, which is nice and rare to see)

I liked Neel's little snoring through his trunk, I chuckled at that.

And Silvo/Jack/Jod/No-Beard/Sparrow is very interesting thus far.

I really loved the idea and visuals around sleeping through hyperspace. It was like entering a dream realm of sorts. All dark. Stars flying by outside.

Fun episode, basically on par with the second, which has some cohesion with both directed by David Lowery. Once the obligatory cold open got out of the way, most of this was a good exploratory ride.

The big new factor here is Jod, and overall, I think Jude Law is playing this just about right. Some of his performance feels a little too self conscious (Law feels very aware that he's in a Star War), but I like how evasive he is, and I'm happy we've gotten the Silvo identity out of the way. Easily the best scene of the series so far was his chat with KB, which was really nicely performed and beautifully lit. The kids in general all remain really good, but I was particularly happy KB was afforded a bit more texture in this episode, as she was probably the least well defined of the four so far.

The moon was a little bland, and the most obvious use of the Stagecraft volume to this point, but Kh'ymm is an instant great alien character, reminiscent of Yoda and Maz Kanata, but clearly with her own inquisitive personality. And lastly the escape from New Republic X-Wings was quite fun, especially seeing the whole crew working together.

    7/10

Have you watched the new animated Christmas short, An Almost Christmas Story?
Directed by David Lowery, story by Alfonso Cuarón. It's on Disney+
Perhaps read this article only if you've already watched the short.

All the kid characters are enjoyable so far, but Fern stands out as a Solo-esque/Leia/leader type.

She effortlessly imitates the mannerisms of Han/Leia that immediately bring me back to the originals.

It's really fun SW. I liked the owl-cat thing. We will obviously see her again. I liked how they gave away that Jude Law's character can't be trusted, rather than letting us wait for a plot twist that everyone saw coming. Speaking of Law, I enjoy how he's playing this; he's clearly having a lot of fun and he's doing well with the child actors.

Another good episode. This show is on a roll. A few things I liked this episode:

    - The slowly unfolding mystery of At Attin.
    - The classic sci-fi theremin soundtrack at Kh'ymm's moon.
    - Kh'ymm herself... I'm a sucker for owls. They are to me what wolves are to Dave Filoni. :p
    - The protectiveness of SM-33.
    - The seeming confirmation that Jod Na Nawood isn't Jude Law's character's real name. I always thought it was a weak name, but it works as a fake name he came up with on the spot.

I'm glad they thought this through. I did have a moment where I thought "Huh? Ion canons? I don't remember X-Wings being able to do that." It also makes a lot of sense. Now that X-Wings have moved from being ships of war to policing ships, it is more practical for at least some of them to have the means of disabling ships without destroying them.

The only flaw of this episode I'd say was that it felt somewhat rushed in certain parts, i.e. they escape from the brig and it is resolved in a wipe cut, they're already on the ship. I thought getting through the crowd to their ship should have been shown, as it would be quite a tense situation, given that everyone had seen them making a mess and getting everyone's attention before that, which got them caught. Same with Jude Law getting out of the brig with SM-33. He gets stopped by his ex mate, and then we cut away, and then he is already on the ship.

Oh, and also, kids getting super excited about shooting at X-Wings made me feel uneasy. There were real people in there, they're lucky they didn't kill anyone, lol.

Looked quite gorgeous (the best looking live-action show, IMO), and overall just fun and exciting. Very energetic, lively, kids are surprisingly well acted, no dead air, good dialogue. I think this is the best live-action show thus far, which I hadn't expected at all.

What if the real Crimson Jack was the captain of that ship and got trapped on At Attin. And Jod just came along much later and took over the name.

I was also taken aback for a moment like this ain’t the clone wars Jod, these are no child soldiers and don’t know how to shoot properly… they could kill someone even while trying to only “ keep them away” like you asked… it’s either he doesn’t care of the consequences or he is strangely sure of the fact that the kids will know what to do and do it right… that was the only moment I felt a bit like WTF Jod…

Mhm, didn't think this one was on par with the first two. Still enjoyable, and some very interesting tidbits here and there, but overall too jumpy. It also felt too short. Could have used quite a few more minutes to flesh things out. They esape from their cell, reach the port, and poof, are on the way to their ship. Then he goes back with little problem, and manages to return to the ship again, most of which doesn't get shown at all. Really could have used more time on that.

The search for the planet also starts off interesting, but then finishes a bit too quickly. Provided that is actually where they need to go, which it might not be.

If you refer to my comment my wtf was more that you don’t hand the turret to sheltered kids who don’t know how to shoot when you want to only scare off opponents and also don’t want to die because they risk killing them or worse shooting the other turret in a dumb move… he seemed quite trustworthy they would not mess up… and they are not in war that’s not the clone wars or rebels… they are shooting at legitimate new republic officers, they don’t know but Jod does…

Is that true that in the spaceport scene when they try to detach from the fluel line you can see Hondo’s ship and it gets damaged? Can’t recognize it but I read someone pointing it out!

This show at the moment is head and shoulders above some of the other live action shows we’ve had IMO. Maybe that’s down to this type of adventure resonating with me, it seems so Star Wars, full of adventure, I like that pirate theme, it’s got a bunch of likeable characters in the kids, a great lead in Jude Law and some interesting designs and ideas going on with the aliens and places. I love the intrigue with their home planet, its clear that they have no idea what’s happened with the republic and have totally missed the war too, so why is the galaxy “news” kept from its inhabitants? Also with the x-wings turning up, I assume it was the new republic and I assume they would want to know the location of the planet too. Loving the show so far.

Pirate Jawas, and the mooniest looking moon since Le Voyage Dans la Lune = rollicking good fun.

Crimson Nana appears to be a good cook as well. Another nod to Long John.

One little detail made me laugh when SM was answering Jods question about the kids, he adopted a really mysterious posture and voice, gave a vague answer and then sloped off, before creeping back round the corner to add “aye”. It just reminded me of an old school 1940s old dark house butler with a Scottish accent who would be the portent of doom with pearls of wisdom throughout the film.

I mean, all we really know about him right now is that he’s a former pirate captain. Neither murder or crossing the authorities seem to be a red line for him when pursuing his goals.
