    Another truly excellent episode.

I didn't think that they could just reprogram SM-33 to be less murderous. Once again KB proves to be the heavyweight of the group.

Also, I found it amusing that it was perhaps implied the reason KB didn't want to go to the spa might be because her visor gives her an unencumbered view of all the unclothed spa guests.

Cthollops (or whatever his name is) was great. Amazingly funny and cute for such a big guy, and it was quite sweet how the kids befriended him. Not to mention Wim using the walkie-talkie unnecessarily to talk to Neel two feet away was hilarious.

I loved the gag of the Hutt eating the little alien server as well. (Don't worry, he's been through it before, he'll be OK. Right? Right??)

I see the GFFA prefers to use lasers when constructing Indiana Jones-style decapitation traps. :p

And continuing the possible connections to LucasArts' The Dig from the last episode... at one point in development, one design for the game required the main character at one point to find a path to safely cross a pool of acid. After which, one of their fellow astronauts tries to follow them across but falls into the acid and is graphically skeletonized.

Unlike the final version, that design for The Dig was definitely intended as a game for adult players only, much like the disclaimer about Lanupa in this episode. (And oddly enough, that version of The Dig also had walkie-talkies as one of the inventory items.)

A very solid episode that moved along nicely. Story progression on both plots, character development, world building, and ambiguity all made for a well rounded episode.

    A couple of thoughts:

I can’t help but think that Wim’s handing of the lightsaber would be all of us if we were ever to hold a working one.

Lenupa being an adults only world makes me wonder how much like Star Trek’s Risa it will turn out to be.

The Banking Clan seems to have survived the Clone Wars.

Cthollops is a nice little tip of the hat to Lovecraft.

At Attin being a Republic mint makes a lot of sense for hiding it and all of the security. One has to wonder if the other At worlds were also mints or safe holding places for the Republic. Similar names also has me wondering if they might have been made (built, terraformed, etc) together as it would seem odd for distant worlds to have such similar names.

They packed a lot of great stuff into this episode. I loved the vibe of the spa and the kids being totally distracted by the luxury of it all. But Jod, he got cold af real quick, first dissolving the pirates in acid (did cycloptic Urkel make it!?) then usurping control of 33 and the Cinder. He might have been a Jedi once, but he's certainly not one anymore.

I’m still not convinced there isn’t something horribly nefarious about At Attin, but if it’s simply a money printing world, I guess that solves the financial crisis that Mando Season 1 established. I guess it’s similar to Hari Seldon’s Foundation to restore the Republic in the event of its collapse

Jod not getting a redemption arc would truly subvert my expectations. But that's not a story for this type of show, or Disney SW, or holiday season lol.

I agree, he wants the treasure, needs to get control of kids. It's how he did it. He truly is no Jedi. Unless Jude was getting conflicting direction, I detected a sinister glint in his eye when got ahold of that light saber. I want his back story, and I want it now.

I also really wanted to see the buffet.

Crimson Jack's backstory? Or Silva? Jod Na Nawood or ...

I enjoyed this one a lot, ranks up there, maybe my favorite. Had that Indiana Jones vibe, love the traps! And we see a Muun! He was bathing right?

The pirates being on there trail added some urgency and danger. The kids finding a slug Bor Gullet to help them was a nice touch. Once Jod figures out what he needs, the kids worst fear is realized...and no one can help them. Truly a scary moment all of a sudden. Now a lightsaber is found! What next.

A very entertaining and surprisingly dark episode!
Drowning the pirates in acid! Gruesome!
Jod is such a wild card. I'm not sure if he's Jedi in some manner or just some pirate cad with Force powers.
Was going to give a 9/10, but 10/10 because of how unexpected this episode turned out.

I'm predicting now that we won't get any definitive backstory for Jod Jack Silvo. Like Long John Silver, he'll just escape again and again, leaving more apparently contradictory hints and clues behind every time. Let him remain an unpredictable enigma. He's so much fun that way.

He is most definitely a Jedi. He was quoting Qui-Gon verbatim. And the attachment talk? They couldn't have been less subtle about it.

I've never associated the word subtle with SW / GFFA. Quote being, your focus determines your reality. Rather than it being specific to Qui-Gon, it could one of the numerous Jedi quotes. Just because Jod knows Jedi sayings does not make him a Jedi. His actions make him "no" Jedi. Surviving Order 66 may well have eroded any Jedi training, or code. It was his ease, a sense of glee, that was unnerving. His fall from Jedi Knight to Pirate might have been a long and devasting one, making his actions towards kids and pirates simply practical. Is that journey any more harrowing that Jedi to Inquisitor?

Enjoyed it but not as much as the previous episode so I'd probably rank it a very good 8 out 10.

-The opening on At-Attin was well-done and again reinforced the strict droid security and the dystopian vibes.

-The no attachment talk from Jod seemed like a twisted version of the Jedi philosophy, so I don't think he is actually one.

-Neat to see the galaxy far, far away version of an adult resort spa world.

-I liked the pirate-inspired, science fiction version of the sort of traps Indiana Jones might encounter.

-Cool to see KB solving riddles and puzzles. She's a very clever character.

-The reveal that At-Attin is an Old Republic mint makes sense, and I agree that the other At worlds were all Old Republic mints as well since the recording speaks of At-Attin as the last Old Republic mint, which to me implies the other At worlds were Old Republic mints as well. Perhaps the other worlds were all invaded (despite their barriers) and/or had revolts or civil wars among their populace for control of the money produced in their mints. And the barriers would then make sense if they were meant to keep out any pirates and invaders that might try to rob the mints. But the barriers could not protect against internal threats like revolts or civil wars for control of the money. Which is why the security droids would have so much power on At-Attin because the droids could be seen as more trustworthy. Less likely to be bribed or ruled by greed, etc. And dedicating entire planets as Republic mints protected by massive barriers could easily be one of Lina Soh's Great Works. (I also wonder if the worlds chosen to become mints were located near nebulas like the owl alien said because they would be harder for ships to access.

-Did like the payoff of Jod's betrayal being challenging Fern to a duel to the death. Using the piracy code against her.

I look forward to another adventure-filled episode next week.

    Happy holidays, everyone!

This is my thought too and the foreshadowing of the conversation with Wim, I wouldn't be surprised if they end up master and apprentice.

I also wonder if him asking SM-33 to take the kids prisoner was for their own good. They clearly don't listen because they are kids which is understandable. He knows they are in massive danger and these kids need to do what they are told if they are to survive.

Jod knows that they are in some deep stuff right now, so him taking control I agree is for the kids own good. They took the trap door, so I now wonder what they are going to find there? This show really has surprised me in a good way.
