Did anyone else see the hidden Mickey in the headlights when they were on the Speeder bikes? actually I think it was a headlight of a bus during the power outage for some reason some stuff still worked.

Fun show. The finale was dumb in parts, but not BOBF Dumb, so no worries.

I don't need to know what happened to Jod, or whether Leia was on the Corvette, or whether the kids are besties now. I just want to know how the ship with the droid got there in the first place. I want to know about the captain and the limb-from-limb situation. Perhaps that will come in a book or comic; a certainty I won't read it.

Because they're robots and have never been told to stop. Just like how the fall of humanity here will occur because AI eventually uses all our resources to make something mundane like a never-ending supply of paper clips.

I personally found it very refreshing that he didn’t have this built up amazing moment where he demonstrated exceptional force powers. There’s definitely a place in the future of Star Wars content for someone like Jod who has a loose grasp of the force but that’s it. Makes him a very interesting character in my opinion especially now we know a little about his back story and that while he’s a complete bastard at times, his actions are rooted in bitterness rather than pure evil

I'm talking about the outside world, the Republic/Empire/ New Republic, are they having no contact with this planet? The credits are produced for them after all.

I was with it until the invasion part. Pirates usually want to find and steal loot and they found it. I don't know if the whole we will invade this planet and make them work for us to produce more of it, is like a pirate. That moment for me was a bit odd.

Lama Su thought Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas was still a leading member of the Council despite him having been killed over 10 years ago so its possible..

Great finale. Not perfect, but still great.

hopefully word-of-mouth helps this show out in the long run. It deserves good numbers.

Point taken. I still think it's ambiguous enough to cast a little doubt tho.

Rey used the Jedi mind trick in TFA without any training whatsoever. It was one of the first specific techniques Obi-Wan told Luke about in ANH. I know that proves nothing about Jod, but there were a few instances in this show where he could have used that seemingly basic ability. His limited ability is something I take into consideration with my doubt.

Maybe it's some kind of implant or "mod" as they call it, I don't know. Also, why doesn't he use the force around the other pirates? You would think he would use the mere knowledge of his Force abilities to seem more powerful to his crew and therefor be better at keeping control of them, unless he's worried they know or figure out it's a trick and he's a fake. Look, this isn't a hill I'm willing to die on or anything, I could be convinced otherwise, I just need more proof because as of now there is enough to doubt in my mind. But that's just me, I like ambiguity, I'm not trying to convince you to my view. I need to see where Watts & Ford take the character, which unfortunately we probably aren't going to see which is a shame because it was a great little show whether Jod truly has Force-abilities or not. He's a compelling character either way and expertly played by Law and I'd like to see more of him. Think we can both agree on that ;)

I don't see how that compares. The Republic knew about this place , then for some reason communications were stopped, and remained silent for 30 years? is that what happened? Where is the Empire/New Republic getting it's credits from?

If your country has a Mint you tend to use it. You don't just forget about it.

Wait for it to leave the area of the city and then try to shoot it down? Let it leave? The New Republic is presumably there to protect the city's residents. If they shoot down a massive ship above the city, and it falls on the city and kills thousands of people, they've been a massive negative influence on the situation.

Personally, I wish they brought in a tractor-beam capability, but whatever. It's a nitpick. But kind of a...big one.

    Misinformation campaign (hahahahaha).
See, for centuries people believed At Attin was just a myth, an urban legend. Some misterious planet with some amazing , but unknown treasure.
The thing is that the High Republic not just hid the planet with the barrier but also with the (false) information that the planet was an "Eldorado" , a legendary place where people would live an amazing adventure for some treausre hunt.
Then again: people in the galaxy always knew/had heard about At Attin but everybody thought it was just a joke.
Now: to the mistery: just to print money, why built a Pleasentville like society around it ? Wouldn't droid do the job? Why do colognize planets with clone physical and organizational structures ?

The numbers seem to be less than The Acolyte. I don't think they will wait to let people catch up with the show, they will likely make their minds up now on what they want to do.

Also - how does the mom arrange for the pirate ship to by-pass the planetary shield?

I think Palpatine sent that final message to the supervisor(s) about the Jedi being traitors, in case they ever came snooping around, and then cut the mints off from the galaxy to produce credits as part of his Plan B, or whatever his backup plan was called, in the event that the Empire collapsed. And that the intention was to tap into it again to finance the First Order or Final Order or whatever. Nevermind. I just made myself not care.

    Mhm, that was...fine, I guess?
Some cool moments, but overall not as good as episodes that came before.

Still, overall a very good show. Wouldn't mind another season at all.

I didn't expect to be disappointed in the finale. Perhaps my expectations were too high. It just somehow seemed a lot more...conventional modern kid's movie filmmaking than the rest of the show. The other episodes felt like the Goonies, and the finale felt more like Spy Kids.

Will give it a rewatch tomorrow.

True, but so far we only have the numbers for the first two episodes, and some “insiders” are already saying they’ve heard that the numbers have been going up for episode 3 onward. Hopefully that’s true.

The mint was producing Dataries, which were Republic credits right? as I understand it - these were phased out as soon as the Empire was formed, so would these credits even have any value?

According to the reactions of the pirates, yes, they have value. Significant value.

But no, there is no economic explanation for this in the show.

... which is the message I was referring to, and presumably made its way also to the Supervisors of these 7 planets.

Why would Bail and Padme know? They were out and about.
That's their job. Why do the credits need to be used by someone outside of At Attin in order for them to produce them?

Hmmm. It could be that old Republic credits are just reliable and credible. They used them for 1000s of years. They were minted. Trusted, perhaps. They might be everywhere, and were once used everywhere (except of course in remote outer rim territories run by Hutts)

The evil Empire has folded and was hated by many oppressed alien species. Meanwhile the NR is just up and running and might be without a full fledged galaxy-wide currency, it could be that the galaxy, in its current chaotic state of territories and kingdoms seeks something that traders can reliably use and find value in. Old Republic credits. So finding a vault of them could be very useful.

Make up your mind, please
That message did mention the fact that Republic ceased to exist and was reorganized into the first Galactic Empire. So if the Supervisors know about the Jedi being traitors, they must also know that the Republic is no longer a thing.
