They had advertised an old photo of Dash (Rendar) in one of the last Celebration events as part of a "coming soon" montage without any description, so my guess is it was Skeleton Crew (?).

Also amusing he keeps choosing to alias as redheads.

Yeah, if somebody's trying to sell that the NR is squeeky clean, I'm not buying it.

I'm hoping we don't get any involvement or twist ending or surprise appearance of the First Order/NR, the crime syndicates along with the pirates need proper love this time as all the other factions have been hogging the spotlight for too long. Rotta and the other guys like the Guavians or Kanjiklubbers would be a breath of fresh air to see on screen.

Heck, I'd pay top dollar to see a growing Tasu Leech and teenaged Razoo Qin-Fee going after the treasure with a few Kanji warriors, maybe have it be a year or so before he gets the rank of Top Boss.

Jude Law has a chance of becoming my movie pirate, but he better stick the landing if he's going to beat Tim Curry and Dustin Hoffman.

Not sure this would be why they wouldn't use that alias, but we're getting a new Dash Render action figure this summer(?) so maybe they decided not to be confusing

Wow I actually blazed through these episodes really quickly. How many more will there be?

At the end of this last one...why didn't the kids just yell at their parents to get back on that hoverlift thing and fly back up ASAP?

Random guess about the finale -
Supervisor is going to look rather similar to Iaco Stark after his upgrades

Hmm… maybe something similar to KB, which gives them an idea on how to corrode his augmentations and wear him down? Of the pirate is the supervisor, I was wondering how that would work, if Stephen Fry was playing an alien or not. Seeing him as a cyborg would be interesting.

Broadly satisfying finale. I'm fine with Jude Law loose to continue his ill-advised crime sprees and cons, but would have liked a 1-2 minute coda with some NR official (maybe someone we recognize) welcoming At Attin to the NR.

Chekhov's turbolaser battery did get fired, but I was glad it was a distraction and not used for, like, one perfect shot that destroyed the pirate ship.

Gonna need a novel or something about the kids going back out into the galaxy as teens and causing even more trouble. Maybe involving the other jewels of the Republic

Loved the revelation about the Supervisor. He's just a droid. It's not even a revelation. Undersecretary Fara's just like "yeah, our leader's a droid. Great Work said so. No big deal."

It's just funny to me. At Attin's rule bound society isn't some Orwellian cesspit. It's just run by a machine following its programming. And all the adults were cool with it.

I liked the little bit of character work we get for Jod. The implication that he was this starving kid, and a Jedi on the run saw some potential in him and gave him just a bit of training before she was killed. He doesn't want to kill anyone. He says that over and over again in this episode and others. He'll kill if he has to, but he's in it for the money. He's just this starving, desperate man who feels the only way to get what he wants is through violence. It doesn't excuse or redeem him, but he just wants success after a life time of setbacks.

Happy to see the NR swoop in and be the thing that saves the day. They needed an unambiguous win, and this is coming from a Canon NR apologist.

So now we have a backstory for Jod, according to Jod. It may even be true.

But I'm not betting any money on it.

I was very happy with the ending!
Also with how it answers the big questions, but what’s next is completely full of responsibilities.

Any sequel could start that night, or a year later, or years later. We might assume Jod is going to be captured. Or that he’s going to hide somewhere in At Attin until he can escape. He doesn’t show regret, he’s a villain, but he was still genuine in some of those earlier episodes too and didn’t really want those kids to get hurt.

Interesting that Palpatine ignored the planet after becoming Emperor.

The Orwellian droid might have been a protector and following its orders/programming, but it was still Orwellian. The barrier is down, but it seems possible it could be raised again if needed? But it will now be known to the larger galaxy and more vulnerable, even if they do put the barrier up.

Jod reminds me of Kinnin Vo-Shay, albeit as less scrupulous version of him.

    I wonder
Will Jod become the Niles Ferrier of Daves Thrawn movie?

One of the best season finale for live-action SW series. Partially because it featured so far the closest thing visually to an adaptation of this moment

They should have killed that bastard Jod.

That's the only gaping flaw in a really good ending. A cameo bit of voice work by Stephen Fry. The New Republic dropping a load of X-Wings and B-Wings, loaded for pirate, and much kicking of arse results.

I also like that the show never goes down the road of trying to romanticise the pirates. From start to finish they are pirate scum. Especially Jod.

Now, that one ending flaw aside, this was easily one of the best SW stories in some time.

Easily one of the most carefully balanced shows in ages, scary but not too scary. Set for kids but adults can enjoy it too.

They also had a good consistency of episode length and a good structure for the episodes.

I completely agree with you re Jude Law’s character. As I seem to recall, his character likewise also didn’t die during the climax of Captain Marvel. I do wonder if it’s a clause in his contract, that any character he plays, specifically does not die, regardless of alignment.

I disagree about Jod. He repeatedly threatened to do horrible things, but how often did he follow through? Very rarely, and never against the kids. He still has a heart under the tough pirate facade. I wouldn't trust him as far as I could Force push him, but he's not the worst by far.

He started an invasion, was hell-bent on enslaving the population, when he could have legged it with the credits. And the entire time he has these pathetic I'm-hard-done-by-me speeches.

Want his arse dead but will settle for freeze-dried vacuum.

Basically a perfect show, so so nice to see them nail something beginning to end. Mark me down as happy to see Jod survive. He's a bad guy, but he's an interesting bad guy and I think they did a great job not redeeming him but helping you understand him. And yeah, for all his threats of violence he was very reluctant to actually harm any of the kids/their parents when he easily could have.

Also glad to see the New Republic live up to their reputation as pirate-smashers. B-Wings with composite lasers!!!!

Yeah, he's a gray character done right. He is a villain, but he has a heart, and more of a heart than, say, Vader or Kylo or even DJ.

I wonder... do others think he's at the same level as Baylan Skoll? Or better/worse, morally speaking?

Him not being killed means so many possibilities for him in the future. I hope they aren't squandered.

Nope, but I'm willing to accept that, with some very good writing, that he may get there.

On other matters, has anyone heard from @AdmiralNick22? As he may have been stunned into a coma by parts of this episode.

    Also:
Who else got a very Imperial sense from the Supervisor's office design style? Whenever that place last had a makeover was likely 20-25 years before.
