The free roam is gonna be great- I hope they add that to the retro tracks somehow. Me being obsessed with the Isle Delfino map in Sunshine has made me try to peak around corners of Sunshine Airport and other Delfini-adjacent tracks so often, but it's so hard to get a good view of things.

Plus- this Mario Kart has an overworld map! And it isn't just an Easter egg subway map like in MK8!

I am a little surprised that they went away from the numbering scheme after trying to organize that into a thing. Perhaps Tour really did throw too much of a thematic wrench into the works and they didn't want to ignore it by calling this MK9, nor confuse the general public who no little to nothing about MKT and would be confused about "where is MK9?" if they were to see "MKX"/"MK10".

Don’t forget extra money for the new type of SD card, as well as the camera.

I don’t- DK hits in mid/late July. MKW is the evergreen launch title. DK is the summer game. Mario will likely be the big holiday anchor. Metroid will probably be in the fall in-between (smaller franchise, more serious, better served by a larger install base post-launch). And then the lower profile HYWA: AOI as the Dec game.

Things like DXM2, Kirby Air Riders and Drag X Drive will hit inbetween in Aug/Sept, etc.


But there’s zero chance they’re not launch windowing this system without a Mario game- and there’s no way they’d launch a Mario game near a Mario Kart game. So there would have to be space between them.

 

I suspect they opted for a high refresh rate LCD for higher fps at a price point more affordable than OLED with a potentially lower refresh (or a more expensive OLED with equal refresh).

 

Yeah, it's pretty annoying. Would have been nice to people pointing out details they noticed instead. But the Nintendo Music break playing the Observatory theme from Galaxy is the sound of Nintendo execs in Japan blissfully unaware of and/or outright ignoring these spam demands.

 

Yes! That was the first thing I noticed!

EDIT- DKB is going to be so much fun to play it looks like. Just smashing everything. The expressive character actions and interactions is a nice touch and definitely following up from what they did in Mario Wonder with those characters. I already want an Odd Rock puppet.
