San Diego, CA So. Cal StarWars Video Scavenger Hunt Planning Post

Well, I mentioned it During the Comic con Recovery Party. and Everyone seemed to like it. So here it is, Now I just need to decide on a date. I would like to do it in either Late September or Early Middle October, on a week end. If any one can think of a better time, let me know.
HERE are the Planned as of now Rules for this little hunt.
1) Each Team must consist of 4 members, one of whom must be dressed in a Star Wars Costume thoughout the event, and said costumed member must be shown with all items on the list.
2) Video Documentation of finding all items is required, all members must be shown on video at least once.
3) THe winner will be the team that get the most amount of points. Points are determined by the Ratings in the list, the harder the item is to find, the higher the point Value. (which I have yet to come up with, but it'll be like, finding and Unleashed figure in Wal-mart, 10 points, Finding a SW charactor checking Melons in a grocery store 2 pt. Etc. PM me list Ideas, all must be SW themed)
4) You MAY count things twice, but it must be in a diffrent location, and can only be done a maxamim of Twice.
5) You may NOT break the law in obtaining Video tapes of items (come on people, I am not going to bail you outta Jail!)
6)The Contest Starts on Saterday morning and Ends at 9pm Sunday night.


That's all I got for now... If it sounds good, and people would like to do this. POST ! I think this would be a lot of fun, and give us a chance to do something we'd all get a kick out of without having to worry about other peoples planning (I.e. no changing areas or miscomunication on where we are aspost to be) or Exhaustion. So......... heh... and one planing on forming a team yet ?

i think setting a date will determine whether people are free to compete. of course we also need interested people with video cameras to speak up as teams will need video cameras.

i got a bunch of ideas for possible things to find/do.

i don't think we'd limit it to just SDSWS members, but keep it open to anyone who wants to play. of course, some of the items might be things that might be easier to do in san diego...

 

If it's on a weekend, it sounds like it's time for a road trip. I've been meaning to go see my aunt that lives in the Spring Valley area!

 

Kari can I be on your team , it has to be before August 30 though.

 

MB3633 hasn't posted a date yet. Have no idea when it will be. What happens after August 30? School?

 

I think it would happen late september early/mid october if only because I'm not sure If I can get this organized quickly enough or people can get togeather that quickly into teams...

It sounds like a really fun thing to do. If you're okay with an out of town team and schedules work out, what a blast it would be to take part in it.

 

Ok, Check Calanders, Would Oct 7th and 8th Work for every one ? If so, let's do it then... (Getting a Date Finalized would help us get things really going... )

This year it will be the the 16th Annual CHOC/Disneyland Resort Walk in the park resort on October 8, 2006.

 

ok then, how about Oct 14th and 15th ? Does that work ? Or is something planned for then too ? (If so, then Sept 30, Oct, 1st...)

So Far... not very quickly.. I am going to be making a list of things this weekend, but if any one want to suggest themes or places... be my guest. Just PM them to me...
(Honestly, I am worried no one or not enough people want to do this.. Anything I arrange... EVER always has a bad turn out of 1, 2, or ZERO people... But We'll just wait and see)

Take heart. The IEFF has it on our agenda to discuss at our Sept. 9 meeting. Personally, I think it sounds like a lot of fun!

 

Do you have any new information on this event yet? The IEFF has one team set to participate and possibly another one forming. Sounds like fun!

 

I got some of the list and locations down... that's about it... I'll let you know after we (SDSWS) have our Sept meeting...
