Hello old thread, thanks for the memories, and reminders who to keep well away from should we ever be in the same location.

One of our former Japanese high-schooler homestays who we hosted 3 years back has returned for a short vacation and is staying with us for the next fortnight. She's now a university student. And as is always the case, my wife is away on business tonight, so I have to host her. And the wife and middle kid are away for 4 nights next week on sports camp.

Our guest has been very generous with the gifts from her country. Right now she is outside with 2 of my kids herding sheep and newborn lambs into another paddock from the one surrounding our house. We truly are a living stereotype.
