    Damn, that's just so wrong.

    Spiritual training at such a young age is just plain brainwashing. Freaking scaring kids with threats of of eternal Hell into beleiving in christ and ****. These people make me sick. No better than the Nazi's training their youth into little Hitlers...

    No children should receive any spiritual training whatsoever until they are of an age to understand and evaluate what it is that they are being taught. Training younglings to be considerate to others is one thing, but Crying out that they are the righteous judges and that war is coming..... what is that crap.

    Damn white trash, bible thumping, hatemongering, hypocrytes.

    My personal favorite passage is:

    "Happy shall he be that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones." Psalm 137:9

    That's some old-time religion I can really get behind.

    I have a problem. I installed Diablo 2 on a friends laptop, but now when i return to windows, everything is overly bright. I checked the brightness, but nothing.

    Any info appreciated.

    That's certainly one of the more difficult passages to swallow.

    Spiritual training if done correctly is NOT brain washing. That video made me kinda sick. But there is a kind of spiritual training that is okay.

    Teaching your children about religion, all religion (or belief systems) is important, not shoving it down their throats or teaching them to be extreme about it. My parents made sure I was aware of all options and didn't stick anything down my throat. I'm glad I know what I know, it makes me smarter, and lets me understand people.

    However, if you are simply chanting or reciting the same lines over and over you are not learning, and it does no good to whatever message you have when you assume someone is your enemy.

    I have much ranting over this video, but some things are not worth my time.

    People love to take that out of context. It refers to a period of God's wrath. It's saying that it would be better for them to die than to suffer through what is to come.

    One of my favorites is: "Do not love sleep, lest you come to poverty;
    Open your eyes, and you will be satisfied with bread. ~Proverbs 20:13"

    //stays up past 3

    One good reason to keep the camera out of the forest! Let's sing together kids! :D

    And to think I almost gave you colors too. [face_not_talking]

    Fixed - you can thank me with a piece of the white cake. Corner piece please. ;)

    Did he fake it on Facebook like Trowa did? [face_shame_on_you]

    Also...this has been around for some time but for those who haven't seen it go watch it. I've seen that video at least a dozen times and still enjoy watching it. Though it's more for the music than the art, but hey still worth posting.

    Old Testament, many passages from the old testament aren't meant to be taken literaly. We discussed that very verse in my Old Testament class.

    I think at a young age children should just learn bible stories, not try to understand any deeper meaning----or try to make an army of 5 year olds.

    And actually most of it is really quite boring and irrelevant, so it's odd how things go.

    Well, I think most of is supposed to taken literaly. I mean, what part of,

    "For My angel will go before you and bring you in to the land of the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Canaanites, the Hivites and the Jebusites; and I will completely destroy them."

    ...is supposed to be symbolic? There's a lot of bloodshed in the old testement. True. God is just. The reason that the New Testament is mostly void of such harsh words, is that God sent his Son, Jesus, to die for the sins of the world. Judgment has been postponed, and we have been given the chance to accept the free gift of salvation that he offers.

    All of it?

    That's really a weird example to try and make the case for literalism. You might as well list the begats.

    Ultra HD TV - BBC

    We have only just started getting HD up and running in the UK.

    Admittedly UHDTV isn't going to be around for about 25 years but nice to know technology I don't have is already outdated.

    I was reading about the Japanese test (footage shot from a car driving down a street) of that UHD system a few weeks ago... apparently it casued nausea, motion sickness and vomitting - the ultra-realistic picture without the sensation of moving.

    *shrugs*

    That's crazy, of course it'll be quite some time before they switch over, but that's kind of cool---way too expensive though. I wonder what formats they'll think up for UHD.

    Know what stumps me? Seeing all sorts of older DVD's in "new" HD versions. I've heard some people talk about getting them "because they're HD!" Don't people realize that unless they have a huge viewing area they probably won't even notice the difference? :confused:
