I Loathe iTunes for the fact that its a RAM eater.

    BUT

If you want to make high quality mp3 files. It lets you tune it to your specific needs. If you're picky about clarity and not HD space, you gotta run your CD's through iTunes.

Edit>Preferences>Advanced>Importing>Setting (set to custom) Change stereo bit rate to 320 and sampling rate to 48 000kHz

If anyone knows how I can make it better plaese do tell me. I'm admittedly a n00b when it comes to sound as that is one of the least of my senses.

(Basically I'm telling you what I have had success with and want to improve upon it if possible)

When I get a faster computer, I'll probably use a Sony Program.

Anyone interested in a trailer editing contest? Maybe take some movie everyone has access to, have everyone make trailers for it, no requirements? Just a workshop on editing a trailer?

Actually, sometimes when I'm bored, I'll digitze clips of movies and construct a trailer to make 'em seem like completely different movies. Like I made Weekend at Bernies into a thriller a while back. It's a lot of fun. :)

What movie would you suggest, that everybody has access to? Are we talking about a fan film, here, or a Hollywood movie, or what?

That would be interesting, I've got lots of trailer music.

I watched LOTR TTT last week, and I still say that trailer was the best trailer I've ever seen.

Something made by someone around or a TFN movie, I guess. Not Hollywood movies. Any ideas?

Actually, we did that... Hat won, I believe, for turning Forrest Gump into a war movie. Six entries, not bad, I'd be up for doing it again.

That was after the West Side Story thriller hit the scene... good times.

Edit:RE: The Bible. I pissed my girlfriend off with my views on it... I see it as a collection of moral stories, a guide of how to live your life. And I told her that if that's what I wanted, I'd read Aesop.

I was also talking to her last night... she was talking with an adult study group about who was to blame for 9/11. And one passage they picked out said something that they interpreted to mean, in general, "the wicked", which they saw as us. I countered her with saying, "Yes, let's look at a two thousand year old text for something that happened five years ago. I could read Nostrodamus, too." It's just as open to interpretation, and at times even more specific when it comes to predictions.

In the end, I'm not a fan of the Bible in its current standing, but fully support any attempt to take the stories in it and re-tell them in the contemporary world.

Agreed. There's some good stuff in there.

Sort-of. Though not the kind that would be required for molecules to man (goo2u, millions and billions of years, etc) evolution.

Okay then, assuming you've done your research and all, tell me what it would take for molecules-to-man evolution to work?

I'm with DK, keep in mind, I'm not bashing at your ideas, but wouldn't there be something between molecule, and man?
    C'mon, a link?
You notice they haven't found a real one, and won't for that matter...just watch...

You mean like multi-celled organisms, australopithecus, and all the range of fossil evidence in between?

The only thing molecule-to-man evolution really requires is time.

The best view of this creationist/evolution arguement is summed up from MASTER AND COMMANDER set circa 1790, when the young lord Blakeny, studying naturalism, is fascinated at the variety of animals and how they disguise themselves. He asks the Stephen, the doctor, "Did God make them change?". Stephen answers, "Did God make them change? Yes, most certainly. But do they also change themselves? ....Now that IS a question, isnt it?"

    *Poof* I'm done.

Can time build a house, fix a car, or score a movie?

Obviously, the answer is no. They all have to have something (or someone) to get them there.

I just wanted to point out that I think it's funny that Funk is supposed to fulfill the responsibilities of a college level biology professor. Science on this level can?t be boiled down into little sound bites like ?God did it?.

No, but time can build mountains, cut rivers, and change the entire surface of the planet. Which I find more impressive in the long run than houses or Zimmer scores.

You are talking about manipulation, not creation.

Does the architect create the wood with which the house is built? Or the metal for the car? Or the wood of the violins or metal of the horns? That's human manipulation of pre-existing materials.

By the same token I ask you: can a human being design and build another, completely organic human being?

I don't know about a house, but couple stem cells with a Shakey's Pizza and another Shakey's Pizza will build itself.

    So yes, probably.

I don't really have time to debate this properly, but suffice to say: I've never seen a good creationist argument. Ever. Never ONCE have a seen one that wasn't based on bad science or outright fabrication. Ever. At all. Seriously. And I've been debating this sort of thing for a long time.

So, y'know, if you can show me that('cause the spirit of debate is supporting your point--which I can do rather handily, by the way--and not whittling away at tiny inconsistencies in your opponent's platform...even though, heck, most of the nitpicking I've seen against evolution falls into the 'bad science or outright fabrications' part, too, come to think of it)you've got a platform that is based on something other than the Bible, then you've got a leg to stand on.

In my study of religion, I find it easier to disprove most belief systems than prove them (although I do believe I have found what is the truth).

The mistake many people make is keeping personal attachment to whatever they believe in. Some people are afraid of obligation, some people want to do whatever they want, some people are afraid that God may not be there.

People make up insane theories or interpretations so that they can "feel that god is still active" or apply it to modern day, or even to them personally, some prophecy does indeed have application to modern day depending on what interpretation you use.

There is absolute truth in some religion (this is edited to free it up a bit from my opinion in fact this statement is strictly opinion) and there is absolute truth in science. People need to let go of whatever they are stuck on and follow logic and not get caught up in the emotional aspects or personal preferences.

When you try to prove a point or defend yourself instead of look for the truth, neither side learns anything. Once you let go you'll figure it all out.

I don't like talking about religion because everyone thinks they have to choose a side. My opinion is obviously leaning on the religious side. BUT I am more than happy to learn about another system. I just want the truth. No matter what it means.

(Sorry guys it makes me a bit ranty :p This is all my opinion of course.)

    Edited for spelling several times.

I'm definitely a 'believer' in evolution over creation. It just makes more sense to me.

Slow development over time, or "Let there be everything" over the course of a week.
I'm just curious as to who was sitting there with a stopwatch timing the thing.

What I would be curious to find out is the real story behind the creation of the universe. A lady came on the Colbert Report and said something about "Why is our universe bound by it's rules? Why is it in three dimensions?" and some other things.
Kind of made me curious, or rather.. renewed curiosity.

    Signed,
    Blissfully Ignorant.

(I've really done no research on any of this.)

How about a John Williams score?

There's so much out there to believe, so just believe what you will, as long as you know what your options are you can at least make your choice yourself, I'm not too keen on forcing religion into people, as long as they understand what it is (basic general idea) then there's nothing more to be done, they'll believe it or not.

Also, I just got a car, I am happy. Now I've got $2,400 in the bank I don't have to spend on anything. Unfortunately, everything is back at home and I have nothing new here at college so I have to wait until the 29th when I go back home to see my car. BTW, it's nothing special, but it's my first car so yey.
