Soup: Food or deceptive beverage?

I believe soup to be a beverage masquerading as a food, but most people I discuss this with in RL disagree. Opinions?

I would agree to a certain point. Chicken broth or Chicken noodle are definitely beverages. The rest are food. Somewhat.

 

Food. Beverages are just liquids with different flavours, soups have food stuffs in them.

 

According to the annoying guy on Top Chef, the test of a really good chef is whether or not they can make the perfect soup.

 

I do not eat soup for this reason. It is never satisfying and I always feel as though I am being deceived.

 

I find soup to be satisfying enough, but then I'm not really hungry when I have soup. I also have a whole tin and some bread with it.

 

Soup is not a beverage because a beverage does not have noodles, vegetables, and meat floating around in it.

whatever happened to at least pretending to wait for someone to reply inbetween? 4 in a row is pushing it.
