They could have easily typed anything they wanted into a search engine, or found one of the many great resource websites around for Star Wars stuff, that half the fan base itself seems to ignore.

 

The writers could be geeks and they just reads them.

 

I know one of them is at least a big fan. He freaked out on Conan a few weeks before The Phantom Menace came out and started quoting and acting out the trailer. But as seen in the show, I guess he didn't much like it afterall.

As for the Holiday Special, to answer a previous question, it's really horrible and only worth having if you're a completist.

 

Dude, whatever. I remember that episode,they clearly stated:
"Salley Struthers is aboard a Tiberian Junker, a vessel commonly used by the Hutts..."

 

Err, okay, I saw it years ago. I knew it was something like that. Still, I thought it was something from Star Wars at the time.
